It’s very possible that you’ve been getting signs from the universe without even realizing it. In this article I share some signs that you’re already getting, how to ask for a sign from the universe and a bit on interpreting signs from the universe.

 

These signs are the universes way to guide us every single day we only need to pay attention to them and trust. We have way too much stress in our society these days and I don’t think we’re dealing with it properly. One of the things that helps me through those stressful times is understanding and believing that there is a higher power, that there is something else out there in the world helping me. Knowing that I am not alone and that there is a whole spiritual team that has my back.

 

Understanding that there is something that is helping to guide me, understanding that perhaps there are reasons for why things are happening for me, not to me is a major shift in perspective. Making that shift in perspective, that things are happening for you and not to you is a huge jump that will really help you see the world and your life in a different light.

 

Seeing signs from the universe is just one way to understand and prove to you that you’re already beginning to see things from a new perspective. It is important to note that we are the creators of our own lives, and we work with the universe as co-creators. The universe is there to help us and to give us the little nudges, to point us in the right direction when we get lost, when we get distracted, when we start veering off in the wrong direction. But we still have a responsibility to make things happen for us.

 

Seeing signs from the universe is believing in something more than yourself. It allows you to breathe and hopefully gain that trust in yourself and knowing that you are being guided to the path that serves your highest good.

 

So, how do we recognize these signs? Below are a few tips from Chopra:

1. Cultivate the Desire to Receive

This is a valuable yet often overlooked starting point for any kind of life exploration. Sometimes we ask questions while simultaneously holding some apprehension about the answers. When posing questions to the universe or to our higher self, this apprehension is noted. Remember that ultimately the universe is always giving you love. If you’re not ready to receive, you won’t. Be honest with yourself and about the questions you have in life. Are you willing to change? Cultivate a true desire to hear from the universe. Be willing to accept the answers no matter how or through whom they come. You may receive your answers from a stranger, an unlikely source, a random occurrence or even a billboard. The possibilities are endless. However, you must truly seek it out before it will be revealed to you.

 

The universe doesn’t have any limits on how it will speak to you. For example, a person may show up at your workplace wearing a T-shirt with a particular phrase on it. Maybe you’ll notice patterns in dealing with the people in your life, such as conversations about a specific topic that you cannot escape for a few days.

 

The intelligence of the universe is boundless. It’s always connected to you and seeking to strengthen its connection with you. You may not always realize this, particularly if you’re in the midst of struggle. Pay more attention to what you’re experiencing. Why ask a question, in order to just ignore the answer? Watch your environment a little more closely during these times of seeking. You may be surprised at what pops out at you when you actually pay attention.

 

As you begin to pay more attention to the occurrences and stimulus in your life, you may notice some repeats; make note of them. You don’t have to write these recurring experiences or themes down, although it would be helpful.

 

These repeats pop for a reason. For example, let’s say you’re looking for a new job. You’re not having any luck and you begin to get a little distressed about the situation. For some reason you find that you are constantly bumping into this stranger around town in the most random places. You may notice something about this person, be it their style of dress or their vehicle, or maybe even something more nuanced. One day you happen to strike up conversation and find out that they’re working at this fabulous company that is presently hiring. This is an example of Synchro destiny.

 

While this is a hypothetical scenario, these are the kind of situations that turn out to be the signs from the universe. The universe is not subtle. When a message is sent, it’s meant to be heard loud and clear. Just because we do not get it at first doesn’t mean that it’s not there. Sometimes these messages will be sent repeatedly until we get them. So pay attention, make note, and begin to unlock those hidden potentialities in the recurring experiences of your life.

 

To become more aware of the signs from the universe, pay more attention to yourself. Remember that you and the universe are one, which means a true sign from creation should resonate with you on some level. Even if you don’t understand it, your higher facilities will alert you that something is significant about the occurrence, person, or symbol. We all have our own levels of awareness. This skill can be cultivated by anyone through self-reflection and meditation. The more you allow yourself to tune into your intuition and inner world, the more loudly and clearly your dialogue with the universe becomes.

 

Once you begin to recognize and engage with the signs around you, remember that you have the power to see whatever you want to see. If you want the universe to say something, you will bend it to meet your desire. This may not be the universe speaking to you. To avoid this problem, you need to completely surrender. If you want an answer or sign from the universe on a specific topic, you must release your personal investment in the answer. Just allow it to come.

 

If you truly want to experience the real thing, then allow the experience to be more important than the answer you derive from it. Don’t shortchange yourself by placing words in the universe’s proverbial mouth. If you’re seeking answers, then you don’t have the answers. Keep that in mind and surrender.

 

You may get lost as you seek out the truth. You may receive a sign but then continue to seek out more instead of getting the message. The universe expresses a great deal of genius in simplicity. This truth can be seen in nature all the time. Most things just are period. If the universe tells you “go left,” don’t hinder yourself by trying to figure out why and how and at what point to make the turn. Just do it!

 

In a lot of ways, we humans tend to get in our own way, and this can be true when it comes to receiving signs as answers. In other words, if you see something significant on the side of a bus, don’t take it upon yourself to follow the bus and interview its passengers at each stop. If a person says something to you that is profound in a specific way and at a particular moment, it doesn’t mean you must get to know this individual. The universe is what is speaking to you in that moment, which is why you felt that momentary impact. This person or thing is more than likely just a carrier of the intelligence so that it reaches you in the right way.

 

You are always engaged in conversation with the universe. Sometimes, a profound moment of realization or a sign may only be part of the message. Continue to receive. Remember: when you know or need to know, you will. There will be no confusion or doubt about what is being said. Seek out this kind of relationship with the universe and it will most certainly support it. Don’t allow yourself to get part of the message and end up more lost. 

 

Trust in the source, within and outside of yourself. Signs are not meant to be ambiguous, even if they appear to be so at first. Seek and find, then receive fully, in order to find your truth. Recognizing and receiving information through signs depends on willingness, earnest seeking, and just plain listening. The universe is always here to help us, so let it help, and pay attention to what it is telling you.

 

The universe never does things to harm us or defeat us, it always does what is in our highest interest even when it does not feel that way.

 

One strong sign the universe gives us are angel numbers. One of the first and easiest ways to know when the universe gives you signs is to notice angel numbers. Angel numbers are a series of the same number repeated. An example is 111, 222, 333 and so on. I don’t know very much about numerology, but I do know that the more you see a number repeated it is something to pay attention to.

 

The more times you see a number repeated in a row, the stronger the message is. Even if you just see 11, you’re still getting a message. But 111 is going to be stronger and 1111 is going to be even stronger. Now that you know what angel numbers are, you’re going to begin seeing them everywhere. I noticed my first angel number almost immediately after learning of them!

 

When you open your eyes to angel numbers and start seeing them is when your belief is going to start getting stronger. You’ll realize that you’re not alone, that the universe really does have your back and that you do have help. Whether or not you choose to listen to what the angel numbers are saying or what these strong signs from the universe are saying is completely up to you. Just know that when you start to see them more and more that you are shifting your perspective. You’re proving to yourself that you can see things in a new light and a new way.

Another thing you can do to communicate with the universe is to ask for a sign. You need to choose what sign you want. You need to give the universe something to work with. A sign could be a symbol, a thing, person, number, or whatever it is that comes to you. When you declare “I need a sign from the universe” and ask the universe to show you something specific you’ve opened up a direct line of communication and are showing that you’re ready to listen.

 

Don’t give up if you don’t see the sign immediately. Just put it out there that you want to see your sign and you will. Personally, it took me over a month to see a sign that I asked for once and it came exactly when I needed it most.

 

This may sound odd, but anxiety is really the universe and your body telling you that something needs to change. You cannot continue doing the same thing over and over and expect things to just go away. Listen to signs from your body as well as signs that you can physically see. Your intuition and your physical body are just as connected with the universe as your soul is. So, pay very close attention to how you feel physically as well as emotionally. Your body gives you signs frequently that you could be ignoring.

 

You don’t necessarily have to pick a sign to get a sign from the universe. Just hearing the same thing over and over or seeing the same sign over and over could be a sign. For example, having the same book, concept, movie, podcast, or the like mentioned by different people could be you receiving signs from the universe. Remember there is no such thing as coincidences.

 

Another simple way to get signs and to connect to your intuition immediately are pulling Tarot or Oracle cards. A single card can be pulled daily, or you can use spreads to ask for different answers, depending on the type of question you ask.

 

It’s important to note that cards don’t tell you your future or what to do. You don’t ask yes or no questions. They just help guide you to what you already know. They allow you to see the answer that’s already inside you. They just assist in bringing it to your awareness so that you can make the best decision for yourself.

 

Signs can be subtle or in your face, and we sometimes miss the signs especially if a sign isn’t what we want. But it is knowing and trusting that even though the answer may not be what you wanted it is exactly what you need to grow and move in the direction you are supposed to be.

 

Knowing and trusting this your life can be easier once you start believing that you’re not on your own and that the universe is working with you and always giving you guidance to help you out. There are always signs the universe is talking to you, proving that it always has your back. You just have to open your eyes to see that and have the courage to trust it. Even if it makes you uncomfortable, scared, or it’s a direction you may not want to go in.  Always trust there is a higher purpose for this direction.
