In the last month, you could find Kansas Forest Service staff hosting a cross-programmatic meeting in Wichita, traveling to Armenia to train wildland firefighters, getting creative with power-tool seed cleaning, representing Kansas in a one-of-a-kind wildland fire cadet academy in Alaska, walking through swarms of butterflies, hosting foresters from North Dakota, and milling pines at the state office. Many of these efforts, events, and opportunities have been shared via our social media with details on the others coming soon.
In spite of my best efforts, it will always be a challenge to convey all the hard work of our staff across the state, country, and this month, the world. I appreciate the time each of you take to read our newsletter and see just a snippet of these endeavors. There is much more work happening behind the scenes, behind desks, steering wheels, and tree trunks--but we hope you'll settle for a few highlights below.
enjoy!
