As Oregon Wine Month comes to a close, we want to use this newsletter as a way to recap some of the amazing things that our wineries have been up to. We also have some updates to share with you in regards to wine regions in our beautiful state.

Our May Featured Winery - Parra Wine Co. has released canned wine “Vino De Oregon: Vino Blanco” that is making waves! They have also appeared at various events such as the Tigard Wine Walk, and markets throughout the area. He has also been featured in an issue of the Statesman Journal
If you can't get enough of Sam Parra and the awesome things he is doing in the wine community - check out AHIVOY: A nonprofit organization that supports vineyard stewards through mentorship and education. Sam is the Co-Chair and Procurement for this awesome organization.

Our April Featured Winery is bringing out all the stops too!
Rose and Fern Cellars had their 2023 Release Party on May 21st, following their appearance at the Tigard Wine Walk.

New in the Oregon Wine Industy: Laurelwood AVA

An AVA (American Viticultural Area) is a zone established based on geography and climate to to designate the origin of a wine and the grapes used. Until recently, the Northwestern corner of Oregon was divided into seven AVA's: Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains, Ribbon Ridge, Dundee Hills, Yamhill-Carlton, Eola-Amity, and McMinnville.

The Laurelwood District AVA, while initially approved in 2020, went largely unrecognized as many of the vineyards were being included in the neighboring Chehalem Mountain AVA. However, as time goes on it is becoming more and more clear that Laurelwood is holding its own and bringing unique and distinctive wines to the market.

When visiting wineries and vineyards in  Forest Grove, Cornelius, Sherwood, and Scholls, you are in Laurelwood. While some large and well known names reside in the Laurelwood AVA (Ardiri, Ponzi, Etc.), there are dozens more small batch and underrepresented wineries in our backyard. EVT Wines was founded for the purpose of making those hidden gems more visible and available to our surrounding communities. We do this by partnering with wineries like Parra and Rose and Fern and sharing their stories and their incredible wines with you.

Stay tuned for more to come - we are just getting started!
