On Wednesday, June 21, Up2Us Sports will partner with Aramark to host a career accelerator for our AmeriCorps service members. This session will feature a panel discussion which will offer the opportunity to hear from professionals that successfully leveraged experience and volunteerism for professional advancement. There will also be a skill building workshop discussing how to maximize your cover letter, as well as Aramark Hiring Managers leading roundtable discussions to help national service members to leverage their experience to gain meaningful employment. In 2021 SIGA went virtual with its Global Mentorship Programme for Aspiring Female Leaders in Sport and we expanded the programme across every continent.

Initially announced at a SIGA Session in Paris on the eve of International Women’s Day in 2018, SIGA set in motion the launch of a worldwide, action-orientated mentorship programme to support and encourage future female leaders in sport to reach their potential. For the official press release, click here. To date SIGA has delivered mentorship to over 200 aspiring female leaders in the sports industry and our target for the 5th cycle is to double the programme from 50 global mentors to 100!

Open to women aged 24 or over, the programme is designed to promote future leaders in sport and foster greater diversity within the sporting industry, as advocated by SIGA’s Universal Standards on Good Governance. Teaching vital leadership skills and creating invaluable experiences, the sixth month programme will offer prospective mentees the opportunities to forge relationships with women that have trodden the leadership path, with a combination of group as well as bilateral digital sessions.
