Let's break down the energetic opportunities at hand and what to be mindful of on our daily journeys…
The Full Moon Eclipse in Sagittarius opposes the Sun in Gemini.
Ahhhh, Gemini season! Do you feel the mental breeze blowing your thoughts and ideas a lot faster? Are you feeling quicker and wittier right now? Ruling the third astrological house of the mind, communication of all kinds, and social activity, this season helps us more clearly put into words exactly what our spiritual outlook is.
During Aries' fire season, we got a spark that either burned down what we didn't need or started a fire for us. In Taurus season, we got grounded and tended to our fire to make it more sustainable, and in Gemini season, that fire sends smoke signals for us. Us Geminis are the chatterboxes and social butterflies of the zodiac, and the third house also covers siblings, neighborhoods, local travel, libraries, schools, teachers, and community affairs, so talk about your dreams out loud! You never know who might be listening. You're worthy of being connected with the relationships and resources you need for the human experience you crave to come to fruition.
In case you've been feeling a little more tired than usual lately...do you have Sagittarius anywhere in your birth chart? Because I'd bet that you do. Opposing the Sun in Gemini right now is the powerful Full Moon in Sagittarius. Full Moons are generally energetically heavy, and Sag, ruled by the planet of expansion Jupiter, likes to be as free as possible. So there's that. Self-care should be a priority. We'll get into that later.
As a mutable fire sign, Sag is fiery but flexible, always galloping forward, looking for its next big adventure, the next best thing that will bring more meaning to its life. It's loud and exuberant in how it moves, making us feel ripples of the same right now. Whatever astrological house Sag represents in your birth chart is where you're being affected by this Full Moon, where you're, perhaps, being pushed farther toward the actions you need to take to liberate yourself.
As Jupiter rules Sagittarius, it's also the ruler of this lunation, which is great for us because it is newly stationed in Taurus. Jupiter shifted into Taurus on May 16 and will be there until May 24, 2024. As the planet of expansion, abundance, and luck, Jupiter magnifies the qualities of whatever sign it is moving in. In Taurus, the power of the growth we'll see is connected to the effort we put into our goals and intentions.
To see where the cosmos are giving you an opportunity for slow but massive growth, check out what astrological house Taurus is stationed in your birth chart. That's where Jupiter will influence your life and bring expansion, abundance, and stability.
Collectively, we could see a renewed focus on caring for the earth, an emphasis on pleasure and how we can create more of it in society, and even economic justice and reform. But we could also see the shadow sides of Taurus emphasized: materialism and impulsive spending, overindulgence, possessiveness, or stubborn reactions to change. Be mindful of your actions, reactions, and movements.
Don't blow up your chances for abundance with greed. Channel Sagittarius' earth-bound fire and move swiftly in the direction of your dreams, but channel Gemini's dual air energy and work with your head to get ahead.
Astrologer Pam Younghans said it best: "A Full Moon always requires a balance of polarities. With the Sun in airy Gemini opposing the Sagittarius Moon, we are asked to use both intuition and logic, to take inspired action but also to be thoughtful and communicative, to be optimistic but also reasonable, to stretch ourselves mentally and physically but also to attend to our immediate surroundings and daily routines."
Mars is in harmonious aspect to the Full Moon, giving us extra courage to go forward with faith. Mars is also stationed in Leo, so be brave about your mission, whatever it might be.
This could be a magical portal of expansion and release for us, but it's essential to tend to our shadow so that it can exist harmoniously with our light as we take the opportunity to grow it. Ask yourself:
- What area(s) of my life am I looking forward to making more free?
- What new adventure or journey am I ready to embark on?
- In what ways can I honor and uphold my truth while also being open to the truths of others?
What it means for us: Full Moon squares Saturn and Neptune.
Saturn is the planet of responsibility, strict rules, and restrictions, Neptune is the planet of spirituality and seeing what isn't there, and a cosmic square means planetary energy at odds with each other. This configuration will either remind us not to go so big and "Sagittarian" with any moves we're making, or it will put an energetic harness on us.
Spiritually, this reminds us that we're in a magical moment of fiery fluidity. Besides the fact that we're always supported by our Spirit teams, angelic guides, and ancestors, the entire Universe is constantly moving and offering us opportunities for alignment. So while we can and should go with the flow, we shouldn't feel like we have to paddle faster than the flow itself.
Visualize yourself being in a river of abundance. Visualize the tide getting higher and the water moving faster. You're alone, no boat, but you know exactly where you want to go. Do you see yourself paddling, trying to swim with the tide, or floating, allowing the tide to carry you?
There's no such thing as a deadline in life. Tunnel vision is man-made. Goals are an excellent way to strategize, but what's an honest perspective if not one that sees all possibilities? If you need to receive these reminders, it's not worth pressuring yourself to do more than you can, and there's no sense in trying to put a human tracking number on what is already Divinely written for you. Release your expectations and gallop along with faith.
Ask yourself:
- Have I been putting human expectations on my Divine alignment?
- How can I work towards what I want to experience in my life while exercising spiritual trust?
- Where do I need to check myself?
What it means for us: The Sun and Moon will come in close contact with the Venus/Pluto opposition.
Venus, the planet of love, money, relationships, and beauty, will make an exact opposition to Pluto, the planet of death, rebirth, and transformation, on June 5. As this tense energy is aspecting the Sun and the Moon, we'll most likely see power struggles in our relationships, calling on us to be more compassionate and acknowledge that any "negativity" that comes up is necessary for our expansion too.
Just like we can't balance one chakra (I hate when people say this), we can't isolate our healing and growth. The cosmos are an infinite ocean of energy that is constantly seeping into every nook, cranny, and pore of existence. As humans, we think that somehow we can control that…that we have a say about what happens for us. The truth is, we don't. What we're offered is beyond our control, but what we can control is our reaction to what's in front of us. It can be challenging and tedious spirit work but that is where karmic and generational chains are broken, and where the healing happens.
If and when shit hits the fan this upcoming week, stop and consider the other person or people and what the foundation of their reaction might be. Then ask yourself: How can I respond to this situation from my truth and my light and acknowledge my shadow self's feelings without letting them have control?
Astrologer Divine Harmony shared this quote that resonates perfectly with the energy of right now:
"Enlightenment is a destructive process.
It has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier.
Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth.
It's seeing through the facade of pretense.
It's the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true."
