Hey, First name / friends!
A few days ago, we wrapped up an unforgettable week-long art and entrepreneurship retreat here in Morocco. Each person here joined our retreat with the goal of nurturing their creative businesses, exploring the art of watercolor, and indulging in a truly unique vacation. However, what we are ALL taking away from this experience is not only newfound inspiration, but also lasting bonds and cherished memories that will remain with us for a lifetime.

This was my first time in Morocco and my first time in Africa! It’s always such a joy to explore a brand-new country, and this one did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived in Marrakech, it’s been a wild ride full of unique experiences.

One of the things we got to do as part of our art retreat was to explore the Sahara desert on camelback! The vastness of the desert was so moving, and it was an emotional experience for many of us. Talk about a bucket list moment!

#CreateWithCatCoq - Camel
In honor of the Morocco retreat, this week’s #CreateWithCatCoq challenge is to create a camel illustration!

Fun fact, I painted this camel illustration a few years ago to complement my top-selling alpaca piece. I always look for strategic angles when thinking about what to add to my art licensing portfolio, and one easy way to make more sales is to capitalize on pieces that are already selling well. I took the same style and color palette from my alpaca illustration and whipped up these camels to sell alongside it and, Boom! Instant sales boost!

If you want to learn how to draw a camel of your own, join me in my class, Floral Animal Silhouettes. This class walks through how to draw animals from a reference photo and embellish them with beautiful florals.

You’ll learn how to create a professional illustration in Procreate through fun hands-on lessons.

Here are some examples of fun camels created by students in Floral Animal Silhouettes!

Share your camel illustrations on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq so I can see what you make and share your work!

I hope that you have a great week!
