Hi, loves: I always tell my (super well-meaning!) tech clients if you're surprised to hear about injustices, like
  • the US Supreme Court ending affirmative action for racial minorities (but keeping it for legacy and $ donor kids);
  • women being scared of being murdered on first dates (while men are more afraid of being laughed at);
  • swastikas popping up in your progressive neighborhood;
  • research showing half of queer people feel unable to be “out” at work - even in your rad company;
…then it's a clue to more deeply engage with marginalized people + efforts…

Until we are so well-informed that we're no longer surprised.
To do so, I recommend you:
  • Volunteer for a community effort led by queer, women's, and/or BIPOC.
  • Invite in your employee resource groups (ERGs) to advise you - as a focus group (not just on diversity; see Frito Lay example below).
  • Swap in more queer, women's, and/or BIPOC voices to your bookshelf, YouTube, podcast list.
  • Support ($) an affinity group in your professional field and go to their events that are open to allies (like Society of Women Engineers, Latinosin.tech, the Hidden Genius Project, Lesbians who Tech)…
  • Hire me in 2024 to advise you (monthly 1:1 calls) on what you don't know you don't know - about the rapidly-changing world of inclusion, leadership, + allyship. :)

p.s. My program for “inclusion workers” started last month with thirty (!!!) participants from dozens of fields, + all racial/gender/orientation backgrounds. All pushing for a more just workplace + world. :)))) These advocates give me so much hope. If you're crying your face off for not getting in (I know you are!), you can still join the program for the remaining 8 months before July 19. :)

pssst: ARE YOU A RELUCTANT THOUGHT LEADER?
If so, you might love
my flagship program
“Future Thought Leader”

(for busy feminists + LBGTQAIs
who are exhausted by the thought of
self-promotion and/or creeped out by seeming “salesy.”

Secret: You do NOT have to do any additional socials to reach more incredible people + make your impact.

(I help you do fewer social medias. While gaining your momentum.)

Credit for the phrase “reluctant thought leader” from my new friend and comrade, Donna Lichaw, an executive coach, keynote speaker, and author of the bestselling book, The Leader's Journey.
