After a productive spring in both Carrara and Serre di Rapolano, Italy organizing the cutting of marble and travertine for shipping back to Colorado, I am back on the ranch for carving, teaching classes, working on private commissions, ranch work, and gardening. |

I am happy to be staying close to home for the summer and focusing on local community arts events with local artists and students (more details at the bottom of this email). Inspired again when visiting many Etruscan museums and sites in Tuscany this spring, I have been working on a series of small busts in terra cotta. This has led to acquiring a private commission for a life-sized terra cotta bust of Buddha. |

Supporting non-profits and community programs with my art is both rewarding and inspiring. This summer, I will participate in a fundraising art show, Serenity, for the Welcome House in Kansas City, MO. The "Serenity" art exhibition and benefit opens endless possibilities for artists to share their ideas of calmness through artwork! Proceeds from sales support the new facility, where I will install a life-size marble angel with gold leaf. The show will run from June 26th through September 20th, 2023. The exhibit is sponsored by the Buttonwood Art Space/ Buttonwood Financial Group LLC, who, through their gallery, is an excellent example of Corporate support of the Arts. Lastly, save the date for an Open Studio & Ranch event July 22-23. Join us for that weekend to tour the studio and ranch, and see demonstrations of marble carving! Yard Art Contemporary returns this summer with two days of art and community, June 24th and 25th! Organized by Artists @anniedecampart and @michaeldowlingstudio, this boutique art fair connects people through creativity and offers an alternative platform for some of Denver’s notable artists to show and sell their work. The public is invited to enjoy the informal, welcoming vibe while they flow amongst the tents, visit with the artists, and shop for original artwork while listening to @newcottagearts, a professional jazz trio.
