Welp…I'm a week late on sending this, but who noticed? Me, only me 😂

Today we're covering:

🔮 The debate of Man vs. Machine…
🎹 a personal story of rediscovering creativity…
🥂 topped off with a refreshing Aperol Spritz recipe!

Before reading any further: This is not meant to be a client dig!
Man vs. Machine 🔮
Just this week, I’ve had at least two client conversations about this topic. I try to be cautious of sharing design memes like this one because I never want to come across as negative, but there’s a HUGE opportunity here to explain the ‘why’ behind what we do.

Client A: Every time we talk, I try to figure out how I’m going to explain exactly what I want. Somehow you manage to ask the right questions, and you prompt me to explain it in a way I haven’t thought of before. Then…the end product is exactly what I imagined.

^^^ this. This is why we still need human interaction to some extent!

We pride ourselves on the branding process we have in place. Before we get started, we ask so many questions (32 to be exact) that prompt you to think differently about the brand you desire – that not only represents you and your business, but speaks to your target audience.

Working with us is not just about the final files delivered, but the entire experience – and we want it to be one full of cheers 🥂. Not just a regurgitated visual of adjectives you’ve prompted us with.

Rediscovering Creativity 🎹
In January, I started a brand-new hobby – piano lessons! It's been on my bucket list for the last few years, and I finally signed myself up.

Every Tuesday for 45 minutes, I show up without any other distractions and Gabe (who is 10 years younger than me) teaches me the mechanics of the piano, and we make our way through the basic Piano Adventures book. Some days, we get really crazy and try to play Adele or Miley Cyrus then I'm quickly reminded that I am very much a beginner…back to the book we go 😂

What has this taught me over the last few months? It's reminded me that we can be creative in other aspects of our lives. We can still learn – even from people who are way younger than us, but are the experts. We most certainly have the time, and if we prioritize it, we will make it happen.

Every class is typically in person, but last week we went digital because #meetings!

Now serving, the Aperol Spritz 🍾 🍊
Introducing the drink of the summer and my personal seasonal favorite! Aperol, inspired by the French term for apéritif: "Apéro." entered the picture in the early 1900s. It wasn't until the '50s that the official recipe for the Aperol Spritz was born. In Italy, the Aperol Spritz is typically a pre-dinner drink sipped with snacks, sometimes garnished with a green olive to make a "Venetian spritz."

Grab the ingredients, make the drink, take a sip, and close your eyes. I swear, the first sip will take you to an Italian coastline on a delightful afternoon.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 ounces of Aperol
  • 3 ounces prosecco
  • 3/4 ounce sparkling water or club soda
  • 1 orange slice, for garnish, optional
Instructions:
Fill a white wine glass halfway with ice. Add the Aperol, prosecco and sparkling water, and stir twice with a spoon. Serve with an orange slice if desired.
