This is how they do it…..
Destination Boarding with Haileybury Rendall School
I find it fascinating to learn about boarding schools and their varied approaches. I know I know…. it's my business to be fascinated, but from a parent POV it's great to know what the ‘others’ are up to!
Haileybury Rendall School (HRS) is one such school that intrigues me and impresses me at the same time - trailblazing contemporary boarding models in Australia, being awarded The Australian Boarding School of the Year in 2022.
Located in Darwin, NT, HRS is affiliated with Haileybury campuses across Melbourne, VIC, China and Pangea Online campus with an educational model spanning over 130 years.
Their student population includes around 100 indigenous boarders (approximately  15% of their student population) coming in from remote and very remote communities, and HRS are proudly a centre of excellence for indigenous education. Their retention rates and high levels of indigenous students completing year 12 are a testimony to the success of all aspects of their teaching and learning programs.
I first came across HRS when they joined us for our Mount Isa Boarding Expo in 2022 - they were the first choice for many of our families who had travelled from stations across the far north west of QLD and the NT. Knowing that they have the option of an award winning boarding school just that bit closer to home proved just the ticket for some of our station visitors. Enjoy discovering what gives HRS the edge in education…. and share with some of your remote friends or Darwin connections.
