Week 4

We are past the halfway mark now and moving on to my favorite parts of making a quilt.

This week we are sewing on the background pieces to create our blocks. The curved piecing is done just like last week with the rings. Go slow, shorten your stitch length, adjust as you go. Then you'll trim your blocks and get ready for final assembly! See below for some tips especially important for piecing the background pieces and trimming.

This week I'm happy to be giving one lucky person some of my favorite things. Make an Instagram post or reel using the tag #FairyRingsQAL and tag me @DueNorthHandmade before 11:59pm CST on Sunday, July 2nd for a chance to win!

Tips for week 4
  • Pay attention to the instructions in the pattern. Line the background piece up with the end of the ring, NOT the edge of the background. (See diagram)
  • When trimming your blocks. it is helpful to use a ruler with a 45 deg. line and center it on the points of the ring to keep your block square.

Win this!
These are some of my favorite things and I'm happy to share them with you! Make a post before Sunday night to be entered to win.

Happy Quilting!
