It's time to…
REST & CATCH UP
I apologize this email is going out a day late! I had a scheduling glitch due to human error aka me! Thank you for understanding!

The next two weeks are for resting and catching up before we begin our second 5 week series--the Summer Sketchbook Un-Slump! This can look like taking a break completely from creating, dabbling when you feel like it, or continuing to create. I also wanted to offer a few suggestions but please take this time to do what is best for you!
  • Take this time to rest! We all have a lot going on and it is necessary to recharge. Sometimes a break is exactly what we need and we come back to our creative practices with even more ideas, enthusiasm, and motivation.
  • Melissa M. had a great idea--if you're planning on catching up, feel free to mix the prompts together and do multiple prompts in one piece! Even if you aren't catching up and want to keep creating, this is a fun and new way to approach things.
  • If you've been developing a series, take this time to continue working on it.
  • If you want to continue to create, re-visit prior pieces and see if there's anything you'd like to expand on, try again, or create a new version of.
  • And if you'd like some new prompts to work on, here's one of my Creative Spark Deck cards for you to try out! Consider taking inspiration from the word prompts, the colors, the art movement, or the pattern. If you can't settle on a word prompt, the number in the spark symbol will help you decide--it'll be prompt #3 :) (I'm very excited to be taking pre-orders on the deck starting Monday. When you sign up to be notified about it, you're automatically entered into a giveaway to win one!) This is actually the first card I pulled for my 100 Day Project! (If you're curious what I ended up doing, you can find out here.)

I shared the Summer Sketchbook Un-Slump for the first time last year as a free challenge to anyone who'd like to join--that's where I got the chance to connect with several of you! :) I like making creating easy and accessible so my plan is to keep on offering a free version of the un-slump every year!

As a Creative Spark Newsletter member you don't need to sign up for the un-slump, you'll be getting the prompts through these emails. (And if you did or are on that list, that's OK! You'll be sent only these emails and shouldn't get any duplicates.)

You'll continue receiving 12-13 ideas and inspiration for each prompt as well as additional resources. The free version offers 6 supporting prompt ideas, just so you know what the difference is :) (This is the first time CSN and SSUS are happening at the same time so I'll be trying my best to navigate through it!)

If you know of someone who might be interested in joining the un-slump, feel free to share this link with them. If you have any questions about any of the above, please let me know.

I hope you enjoy the weeks ahead and are having a great summer so far!

Happy July and talk to you soon,
