It's summer and it's vacation.

That means I am on a two month hiatus from the stress of the school year, finally free to move at my own pace, set my own routine, travel, and spend my days with family, friends, and my kids. (Alone time is scarce in July and August and I'm not mad about it.)

I also did something completely out of my comfort zone that was cool. You can read about it at the end of this issue.

However comma I have relationships and partnerships to maintain here, and I truly love creating this newsletter. I also love not feeling the pressure to constantly perform, post, prepare, etc.

(Perfect timing for Instagram to launch the new Threads App, but I actually love it so far. It seems to be a fun place to share content, help people, and write without the pressure of a pretty picture.)

Download the app and give a girl a follow: https://www.threads.net/@daynaways

Daynaway remains a source of creative joy for me and I'm grateful it's still growing and thriving. Thank you.

So let's get to some summer discoveries I can't live without and brands I keep on repeat.

From outdoor fun, to skincare, to workouts, to fashion - it's all still here.

Links provided - just click the pics!

Do you have a brand you are loyal to?
Obviously, I have a few - for skincare, fashion, perfume, makeup, even laundry detergent.

As for fashion, JCrew has remained a closet staple of mine since the 90s,
and this summer they brought their A game.

(Note - you can even buy the 90's Barn Jacket on their site!)

There's still time to get an extra 60% off sale items,
and cashmere is currently 40% off. Don't miss out!

Here's what I've bought for this summer:
(Links are in pink)

A New Summer Hat:  Not a bucket - they didn't work for me in the 90s and they still don't now. But this one is so cute and just a bit floppy, kind of like….never mind.

The Perfect Summer Wedding or You Belong on a Yacht Dress: I saw this and fell in love. It is SO flattering and pretty, AND it does not drag on the floor on my 5'2" frame. It's your rich bitch purchase of the summer.

The Cutest Cutout Bathing Suit: This one will make you feel and look like you're 22. I also got the matching shorts. Sue me.

The 1989 Bikini: This one is high leg and all. It's simple, but looks so good on. You can sip whiskey, sing Sweet Home Alabama, and still look classy all summer long.

Cuff Bangle Bracelets: I wear one or both of these with everything from this cover up to this tank top.

And of course, we have to go disco. The yellow sequin skirt below has been a date night and GNO outfit - I paired it with a simple white tank, as per the picture, and the gold cuff bangle. It may be sold out by now, but it's worth a shot. And the matching shell tank is still available.

And now you'll know what I did this summer:
Let's call it Summer Reading.
My former colleague and friend, Deb, founder of
convinced me to have my natal chart read.
I was skeptical. I was afraid of hearing something scary
and I don't do things like this.
But I trust Deb and decided it was the right time.
(She is an extremely calming and kind human.)
I was pleasantly surprised to not hear my future, but a profile of my personality. And it was pretty spot on. What she told me reignited my purpose and need to continue doing certain things, like this newsletter, and to lose some habits that don't serve me well.
If this interests you, reach out to Deb through her website above

Since there is still so much summer to be had
and summering to do,
next issue will have all my summer must haves.
(Some may surprise you.)
