We're happy to be back at the ranch after our much-needed two-week vacation. It's always rejuvenating to take a break from our daily routines, and it becomes even more special when we can spend quality time with our family.

Over the past two weeks, our travels took us on a wide path across the mid & eastern US. Molly flew to Virginia with her mother, Mary Jane, to visit our daughter, Katelyn, while John drove from Texas to attend a work conference in Nashville. It was the first time Molly got to see our Katelyn's new apartment, and the three generations of girls had a delightful time exploring the historic sites around Newport News, Richmond, Williamsburg, and Yorktown.
Afterward, Katelyn and Molly drove to Pittsburgh, where we met up with John for the Pantalone family’s annual Independence Day reunion. John's brothers, sisters, and their extended families traveled from various parts of the US and the world to reunite at the home their late father built —the place where they all grew up. It was wonderful to reconnect with everyone.

From there, we headed to Missouri to visit our son Jacob and his family in Ft. Leonard Wood. We cherished the time spent with our grandchildren and enjoyed revisiting familiar places from John's time stationed there. During our stay, we visited the Discovery Museum in Springfield with the grandkids - John loves a good science museum and this one was excellent, with activities for kids of all ages.
We also made sure to explore the Pulaski County farmers market in Waynesville, Mo. It was a great to get a chance to visit a new market and not only pick up fresh vegetables and meat but also connect with the local farmers. One particular highlight was encountering the trailer used by a local Amish family to transport their produce, baked goods, and other homemade products to the market. It was impressive to see their commitment to bringing quality goods to the community.

One of the most memorable moments of our trip was witnessing our grandson Luke's sheer joy as he experienced his first fireworks show. Ft. Leonard Wood surpassed our expectations, putting on a magnificent display that showcased the power and pride of our nation. It was truly a remarkable sight to behold.

Leaving the ranch is always challenging, and we are extremely grateful to Molly's father, Robert Hammack, and our neighbors for taking care of the place while we were away. Although we treasured the time off, we are eagerly looking forward to seeing all of you again at the markets this week.
