Hey First name / friend!

If you haven't taken a moment to go out outside and soak in the magic of summer DO IT! We are BOOKED with engagement shoots and elopement ceremonies. In fact, we are in Italy for an elopement as I write this! Shoutout to KLM airlines for their macaroons, BEST airline snack we have ever had. Let us tell you, Summer loving had me a blast, Summer loving happened so fast.

How are your elopement plans going? If you're post elopement and still enjoying our newsletter, how's your MARRIAGE going?? I bet your having a blast.

Jake and I celebrated four years since our own elopement!  We practice a few key ideas to help our marriage. My little nuggets of wisdom are:
  1. Hold space for your partner's insecurities, fears, excitement, etc.
  2. Listen to the songs he makes up about pizza. If you don't know about Jake's pizza obsession, head over to the gram NOW and check out his pizza oven masterpieces. YUMMM.
  3. Cherish the little moments.
  4. Share the funny AF instagram reels.
  5. Take vacations together! Adventure, soak in the culture!
Currently sipping on limoncellos together as we write this. CIAO BELLA!

what the hive is buzzing about: summit mountain

Hive photographer, Meggan, captured an incredible Summit Mountain Lodge wedding! Surrounded by Glacier National Park’s prominent peaks, the venue was GORG and this group of wedding guests were so much fun! Meggan had the best time creating dramatic poses, intimate close ups, and hyping our couple up all wedding long.

PLANNING TIP:
If you're side eyeing eloping in another country (such as our Iceland travel corner below!) we have some pro tips for you:
1. Remember that you can should do all the tough paperwork (marriage license) at home!
2. Plan at least 2-3 days to get there before your elopement so you can adjust to the jet lag.
3. Welcome the beautiful culture, scenery, food, experiences with open arms.
4. Bring 2 pairs of shoes, make sure one pair is comfortable to walk in!

PACKING TIP:
Jake and I are packing professionals at this point. The most underrated packing is for your carry on. If you have been following along on our Italy journey, our bags were lost for FOUR days. We definitely got every use possible out of our carry-on essentials!

My carryon contains:
  • Travel size rumple blanket that I'll be obsessing about for a long time. Thanks Jake!
  • All the snacks.
  • My kindle for the reads.
  • Water bottle.
  • Sweater.
  • Passports.
  • Printed itinerary because I'm old school.
Jake's carryon contains:
  • iPad, especially useful for those international flights.
  • Tech plugins like alll the charges.
  • Kelsey's overflow.
Did we miss anything?? Hit us back with a reply and let us know!

Tiny suitcases and BIG dreams,
Kelsey & Jake

TRAVEL CORNER: iceland

WHERE
Iceland is broken up into six regions: North, Highlands, South, West, Snaefellsnes Peninsula, and West Fjords. Majority of our top spots for an elopement are in South Iceland, although the entire island is gorgeous. Our recommendation is to stay for a few days and see as much as you can of the country.

WHEN
The good news is, there is no bad time to get married in Iceland! Each season has its perks so it’s up to you to decide what you are looking for.
  • Game of Thrones esq fur coats your vibe? Say helllooo to Winter!
  • Are beautiful autumn colors and less tourist traffic your jam? 'Sup Fall.
  • Our adventure peeps that take advantage of longer days to enjoy all activities? Summer is your boo.
  • Want a compromise in tourist traffic, daylight hours, steady weather, and a shot to see the Northern Lights? Spring is the great equalizer.

Iceland Activity List

Find a Volcano: Take a helicopter flight over the erupting Fagradalsfjall Volcano from Reykjavik. Experience breathtaking views of the eruption site and get closer to the action than any walking tour.

Watch the Sunset: A local tip, and a bit of a hidden gem, Skarfagarðs Lighthouse is the prime place for stunning sunset views before watching the lighthouse do its job on the edge of the darkening sea.

Chase a Waterfall: Check out the waterfall featured in films from Thor to Walter Mitty. Skõgarfoss Waterfall is considered a moderately challenging route and takes an average of 2 h 28 min to complete. The route is also used to reach the Thórsmörk valley via the Fimmvörðuháls pass.

Explore an Ice Cave: Ice caves change from year to year both in size and colors. Nature is constantly shaping them, making it a truly unique experience. Grab an ice axe and get to exploring!

PS - Are you planning a proposal? We are here to be your planning bestie every step of the way. We have seen some AWESOME proposals lately - Champagne pop after the YES moment, engagement session while your heartrate is still elevated, fly across the country and hike a mountain summit before proposing at the top! If you are looking for a brainstorming buddy, contact us. We have 100% proposal YES rate!
