July ROUNDUP
HOST AN AGKNOW EVENT
MEET THE AGKNOW RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
NEW FARM TRANSITION STUDY
Looking to host a farm-focused mental health workshop in your local community? AgKnow is currently offering 3 events on-demand across Alberta. Just fill out the contact form on our website and we'll be in touch soon!
Farm Mental Health 101
This is an interactive workshop or presentation about mental health in farming using case studies and examples (e.g., depression, anxiety, burnout, substance use). The goals: improve mental health literacy, increase confidence speaking about mental health, improve knowledge of resources available. Sessions are usually 60 min but can be adapted.

In The Know Workshop
This is a longer, and more involved mental health information workshop (~4 hrs). These sessions are adapted for adults (current farmers) and youth (next generation of farmers in post-secondary). The goals: improve mental health literacy, increase confidence speaking about mental health, improve knowledge of resources available. Promoted by AgKnow and delivered by AgSafe Alberta. Request an event or ask to be put on a participant wait list through the online form.

Farming Matters Sessions
As part of a larger project to understand farm mental health needs and solutions, we're hitting the road to talk directly with producers, farm family members, and those who work in the ag industry. These are generally informal sessions that can take place in coffee shops, council meeting spaces, or online. The goals: Identify the major stresses in a community or a specific industry, resources they need, and their recommendations for programs and priorities. Sessions are usually 60 min but can be adapted.
