Last month, an alert was sent out notifying us that a scared homeless cat was living underneath a house that was destined to be demolished. After getting permission from the owner of the property, a brave Alley Cat Project volunteer went in to trap the cat to evaluate whether she was spayed or needed any medical care.
Our primary goal is to provide all outdoor cats with spaying/neutering and health services. If the cat shows signs of friendliness towards humans, they will be fostered and put up for adoption. Otherwise, if they remain feral, they will be returned to their preferred outdoor habitat where their wellbeing is closely monitored by ACP volunteers around Seattle.
Soon after trapping and providing her a visit to the vet, ACP determined that she was not spayed and had no microchip, though was in overall good health. Within no time she was an extremely affectionate cat and had no problem with humans, meaning she would be adoptable.
Because she was so sweet, we thought she might have been someone's missing cat. We put out an alert, and had zero response. The sweet calico girl, now named Sadie, is living her best life in her new home where she is doted on by her new family.
