August Newsletter
Summer on the farm has been full of fun! But we are already looking forward to fall fun and sweater weather!
Hello friend,
It's been awhile, and we're so excited to let you know what has been happening at the farm recently! However, before we do so, we'd like to thank you for keeping up with us and showing your support. You all are our favorite part of the job!
Peach season is here and we are trying to hang on to the last bit of summer fruit as long as we can! Toss this salad together for the perfect side dish or a simple dessert. If you want it to be an actual desert, serve over ice cream!
We have good news- there is an end in sight! Construction on the Lower Barn and Depot are going to be finishing up by mid August. We've been working hard to make the space perfect and we're more than excited to be able to accommodate larger events in the near future. The bad news- we have to wait another few weeks to show you what we've been working on! We promise it will be worth the wait!! Keep your eyes peeled for an open house coming up in mid August, where you can check out all of our new spaces.
As construction starts to wrap up, we’re thrilled to officially open our event calendar for weddings, starting August 15th. With the Depot housing two bridal suites, and the Lower Barn serving as a second space for receptions, etc, we’re now able to accommodate larger weddings and various events. For inquiries about our event spaces, click the button below!
Another building that we’re getting very close to opening is the Meat Co! We had our soft opening of the Meat Co. in mid July, and although it’s currently just a small freezer in the Mercantile kitchen, we’re proud to be selling Estes Farms meat! Estes Farms meat is born here, raised here, and is hormone and antibiotic free. Our cows are an Angus/Hereford cross that are grass fed and grain finished. In the near future, the Meat Co. will be relocating to the stone building across from the flower shop!
One last thing that we want to put on your radar is our Fall Market Days, happening on September 30th from 10AM-4PM! We will be welcoming various small businesses from the 417 area to the farm. Vendors will be set up in tents/booths in spaces all around the property. There will be food, kids activities, music, and lots of shopping! We hope to see you there!
