Hi friends,

Stop waiting for them to accept you, embrace you, be proud of you, and love you.

Do you understand that by waiting, you are giving up the responsibility of your own happiness to them? Don’t you get that life is too short to put happiness off? It is too precious to wait for someone to change so you can feel good about yourself.

They have their own issues. They can’t give you the love the way you want them to. It’s about them, not you or your worth. You are worthy one hundred percent. This is what they know. This is probably their best. Maybe they even love you, but their way of expressing it is not what you need.

You know your “them.”

Accept them. Love them. Forgive them. Wish them well. Don’t expect too much from them. Set boundaries with them. Perhaps a day will come when you need to let go of them. But, never miss out on life by waiting for them.

You can be happy now.

While my kids were at their mental maths class last week, I worked a bit.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 insightful things I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. 🔮 The Past is Not True: a meaningful story from one of my favorite authors Derek Sivers.

2. ⏰ An article worth your time: Time Management Is Dead: How I Actually Boosted My Team’s Productivity by Tanya Dalton. I also recommend you watch her 10-minute Oxford Talk about it.

3. 👀 The new trick to getting work done: Body Doubling. I think it’s one of the reasons I like working at coffeehouses. My friend who works from home uses this technique all the time.

5. 💭 Your quote of the week:

“You know what I wish women did less of? Resenting their partners for not participating enough, not showing up enough, and not helping out more. And you know what really helps? Communicating what it is we need in order to feel supported. No one can give us what we want unless we tell them what it is. While there’s this idea out there that true love means someone can magically read your mind and meet all of your needs without you having to speak up, it’s completely bogus, and if you’re waiting for that, prepare to be waiting forever.”
