Kasbah Tamadot

Situated in the spectacular Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the award-winning Kasbah Tamadot was bought by Sir Richard Branson during one of his famous ballooning expeditions. To the north extends a steep river valley with sheer rocky limestone and forested mountains, contrasting with the view of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains on the southern side. To the east, across the river, you can see the traditional Berber village of Tansghart built into the side of the mountain. Kasbah Tamadot employs local Berber staff from the surrounding villages, giving guests a sense of staying in a Moroccan home rather than a hotel

Here, you’ll find relaxing comes easily as you are ideally situated to explore the mountains by foot or even by mule. Each of the 28 bedrooms, suites, and Berber tents is decorated with artifacts from around the world. Indulge yourself at the traditional Moroccan hammam or take a dip in the outdoor infinity-edge swimming pool. Get a taste for Morocco with an interactive cooking lesson or explore the labyrinth of enchanting staircases and courtyards.

For the intrepid
For an active experience, enjoy trekking in the nearby Atlas Mountains, where you can hike through eucalyptus and olive groves and visit nearby villages. There are many trails that you can either hike on boat, or trek by mule. For a true cultural experience at Kasbah Tamadot, you can enjoy a 1-hour Mule Trek, tea in a local Berber House, a visit to the Eve Branson Foundation, and a Berber cooking lesson and bread baking.
For the indulgent
For a true Moroccan experience try a Hammam, where the skin is deeply cleansed, purified and softened with the traditional Moroccan cleansing ritual. The birth of Hammam can be traced back to the famous Greek and Roman baths. The practice began in 600 AD under the influence of Mohammed the prophet, who believed the properties of Hammam heat were both healing and rejuvenating. All products used in Kasbah Tamadot’s Hammam are locally sourced.
