Brooklyn Editions would like to welcome you to our Newsletter!

If you are receiving this email, you are either a wonderful client of ours already, or someone we admire and would love to work with in the future.

If this is the first time we are connecting with you: we are a Brooklyn-based fine art print studio, committed to exceptional quality and providing dedicated service to the arts.

Our studio has been growing quickly over the recent years. Today, we are excited to announce:

OUR NEW
WEBSITE

We finally got here. Our Website project has been a years-long ordeal (please don’t ask exactly how many, it’s embarrassing) that always took a backseat to our busy print production. But we've done it, and we couldn't be happier.

For a studio that specializes in work primarily of the printed nature, it may seem funny to claim that one of the greatest things we’ve ever done is our Website… but it’s true. We are more than thrilled to share our best representation of this studio: one that we believe is a great resource for artists, outlines our expertise and capabilities, and presents new channels where we aspire to grow.
OUR FIRST
OPEN CALL

In celebration of our launch, we are holding our first open call:

The BKX Fall 2023 Print Edition Sponsorship

Over the years, we have worked with numerous talented artists that have turned into friends and collaborators, been constant inspirations, and have helped to build a mutual support network between creatives in this field and others. With this launch, we want to introduce our studio as a resource for creative production and welcome artists into our community.

We will be accepting proposals until August 31, 2023 with the selected proposal announced 2 weeks later via this mailing list.
WE'VE BEEN
BUSY

While the studio has gone through many changes, one thing that has and will always be a constant for us is our work. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share our current and past projects.

We have a deep vault of exhibitions, edition launches, and other special events to share with you that goes back years! We never take for granted how lucky we are to be in constant collaboration with great artwork, and to take part in a diverse array of meaningful projects. One of many was the RUSH 25th Anniversary Portfolio Launch. This was our first major sponsorship project at the end of last year that has raised significant funds for the vital arts organization Rush Arts Philanthropic.

Amongst many, many more. Please visit our News & Insights page to start shuffling through our Archive. We only expect this to grow as new and exciting works that constantly amaze and surprise us come in.

We love to share our updates and bring a wider audience to all the cool things we're working on. To get started, we've picked two projects we completed earlier this year to highlight:

SPOTLIGHT

Carole Feuerman
Serena Suite II Silkscreen Edition

We worked on a hybrid silkscreen edition for iconic artist Carole Feuerman that also went up in her solo exhibition Sea Idylls at Galeries Bartoux. The total suite is composed of 4 identical Serenas, in 4 different colorways, that we worked with the artist's studio to determine. On top of the print was a clear gloss varnish that we custom-formulated to lay on the cap and lips. This was the first project we did of this hybrid nature, and we were very grateful to get it done for Carole.

BKX x Avant Arte Present
Gabrielle Garland

We collaborated with Avant Arte to release Gabrielle Garland's first limited print edition titled Anything worth having hurts a little which went live for a 24hr timed sale window in March. We worked with Gabrielle to fine-tune and edit her digitized painting to also include a special addition: a house number that corresponded to the edition number.

ABOUT
THAT X

The launch of our new Website (and consequent, new Branding) comes at a bit of a funny time. As some of you may know, this week Elon Musk officially (attempted) to rebrand (or debrand) Twitter into ‘X’. While the jury's still out on what exactly that means for Twitter, we're here to share what ‘X’ means to us:

First things first, we'd like to have it on record that we totally had the ‘X’ thing before he did. It's just unfortunate our new Brand concept sat around for a bit longer that we meant it to before we put it into action.

The ‘X’ as a stand-in for ‘editions’ in BKX represents the limitless possibilities that we wish to seek as a studio. As our knowledge, experience, client base, and connections multiply, it is a reminder to consistently pursue innovation, potential, and the unknown.

Mr. Musk has made it difficult to talk about innovation, potential, and the unknown these days without sounding, at best, full of it. We follow a different north star: one that's guided by artists and their ideas. Most importantly, we are committed to growing and pushing what we can do as a studio dedicated to supporting the arts.

We hope that you stick around and stay on our mailing list to catch our updates and announcements. Our Newsletter will be seasonal and sent out 4 times a year. Open call and other special event announcements will be sent out as they come. We won't waste your time, as our goal is to provide interesting projects, valuable opportunities, and insights without commercial or spammy content.

However, if you do choose to opt-out, we get it, we respect you, it's easy to do at the bottom of this email. We look forward to seeing you in the studio or on one of our other platforms down below.

Have a great rest of the Summer, and we'll see you in the Fall!
