Hey, First name / friends!
If you saw my email yesterday, I shared that my friend Stacie Bloomfield is hosting a free week-long mini course called The Artist’s Side Hustle where you’ll learn how to realistically make an income with your artwork (even if you’re super busy!).

Stacie is not only an incredibly talented artist, but she’s also a powerhouse businesswoman whose strategies have built her company, Gingiber, from a side hustle Etsy shop into a seven-figure company.

That’s the power of starting a side hustle. Whether it’s an Etsy shop or a few designs on Society6, we ALL start somewhere. And you’ll never grow if you don’t start!
I'm a proud affiliate of Stacie’s programs, which means if you enroll in any of her paid courses, I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. ā˜ŗļø

In honor of Stacie’s mini course and the idea of starting small, I wanted to share some of the very first designs I uploaded to Society6. Even though I look back on these overly-filtered Instagram photos from 2014 and cringe a little, I’m so grateful that I put myself out there when I did.

Check out what I was posting to Instagram waaaaaay back in 2014:

Now, I want to encourage you to take a step toward building your own dream art business. Register for The Artist’s Side Hustle free mini course to learn the actionable steps you can take to make money from your art in as little as 5 hours a week.

#CreateWithCatCoq - Cupcakes
This week’s #CreateWithCatCoq challenge is inspired by one of my side-hustle-era designs - These cute cupcakes! (I had to share another photo without the Valencia filter or whatever I was using back in 2014 šŸ˜…)

Create a cupcake illustration or pattern using whatever medium you prefer. Don’t forget to share your illustration on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq so I can like, comment, and share your work!

I can’t wait to see what you make!

And who knows? Maybe this cupcake illustration could end up being one of the designs you use to kickstart your own art side hustle!

I hope you have a great week! And don’t forget to sign up for The Artist’s Side Hustle free mini course which starts in just one week!
