Six weeks ago, my husband and I sat down for dinner at Kimo's Restaurant in Lahaina, about halfway through our honeymoon in Hawaii.
I looked at the ocean, looked back at Ben, and said (with tears in my eyes): “We are so lucky."
We were both filled with so much gratitude that we had the privilege of being in such a special place, and knew we'd cherish that memory forever.
Yesterday, I visited the Kimo's website and saw a pop-up message that made me cry again - but this time due to heartbreak. Kimo's was amongst the countless businesses and homes that were destroyed by the Maui fires.
Today, I am reaching out to our entire Thirlby Co. community to invite you to join us in giving to Maui. All donations, large or small, will make a huge difference to the people of Maui and the State of Hawaii.
