Hey, Guatemala Team!

It's all getting VERY real! Can't believe we are just weeks away.

This week, we have some practical information for you as you make final preparations for your trip. WARNING: This is going to be a long email with a lot of important information in it. Please read this email in its entirety!

TEAM MEETING!

A virtual team meeting will be Feb 5 at 8pm.  A zoom link will be sent in the groupme, but we will also try to remember to text it out the day of the meeting. Please feel free to text questions ahead of time, so we can prepare to answer anything that you may need!

TRAVEL INFORMATION for TEAM B (Feb 22-26 team)
If you are on this thread and traveling for different dates (Feb 21-28), you will receive custom info separate from this email.
  • If you live in the Upstate SC area, you will stay at your house the night before the trip. If you are traveling from out of town, we will be arranging a host home or hotel for you to stay in the night before the trip.
  • If you are driving yourself to the airport and need to park a car during the trip, the daily rate will be at your own expense. Plan accordingly (and if someone is brave enough to drive you to the airport super early and pick you up super late, take advantage of the free ride!).
  • The travel schedule below is "tentative". Please be flexible and always follow your travel coordinator's, Audrey Roache, instructions; this schedule will likely change a little before our departure!
Wednesday, Feb 21
6:30pm - Brief “virtual” check-in. We will send out a zoom link to check in and ask final questions, give final updates. Also, have alerts ON for GroupMe as we will communicate any last minute reminders there!

Be sure you are fully packed, bags are weighed, and alarms are set! Go to bed as early as possible so you can get to the airport in time!

*If you are staying at a host home, please plan your travel to arrive by 8pm so you aren't keeping them up late!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
We are so excited to be able to partner in three specific ways during this trip.
  1. Intermissions Main Stage! We will be hosting the main stage at the conference with Clayton and Sharie King teaching and the BBB Band as we've affectionately named Bill, Bailey, and Buckland leading worship (and no, we won't actually call it that in public! haha). On top of that, we will have our team assisting with production, greeting, clean up, prep, and tear down!
  2. Student Ministry! Essentially, we are hosting a mini Crossroads Summer Camp. Matt Holloman and Grady Ellison will be taking the helm as teachers while Connor Moseley will be leading the students in worship. We are with students practically all day (outside of meal times) hosting sessions, breakouts, and activities.
  3. Engadi Staff Development! A few of our team members will be pouring into the Engadi Ministries staff (the team that we work with year-round). While some of us will be working with the staff during staff development, we will need a few volunteers to watch their kids and hang out with them!
We have already started dividing the team up into ministry positions, but if there is a very specific space you want to contribute, please reply back or text us to let us know! We want you to be in your zone and serve with excellence wherever you are.

PACKING
You will be able to bring one checked bag (50 lb. limit), one carry-on bag, and one personal item (purse) with you. Your participant guide will have the packing list posted so that you can start planning out what you want to bring. We suggest only packing your checked bag around 85% full in case we need you to bring some team supplies mentioned above with you and so that you will have room to bring souvenirs home.

LET'S TALK FOOD!
  • If you noted that you have a food allergy, we recommend bringing some additional food options with you just in case there is something that you are not able to eat. Each meal during the trip will provide enough variety to meet the needs of every participant. However, there may be occasions where we are out to eat where a snack may be helpful!

  • The hotels we stay at do a great job providing some amazing meals for us! We want to challenge everyone to be flexible with their food choices and try some new foods that you may have never eaten before. Who knows, you might even like them!
