Dear Friends~

We are wrapping up the summer with several opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business owners to advance their learning this fall.

Our Fortaleza Fund workshop series kicks off with the first free workshop on Thursday, August 24 and the second on August 31. If you are a multicultural and multilingual business owner located in the San Luis Valley or Southwestern Colorado (Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio, Cortez & Pagosa), these workshops are for you. The workshops are free and presented in Spanish, online via Zoom. If you attend both workshops you are eligible to apply for a seed grant for your business!

Our Rural Women-Led Business Fund is hosting workshops on Wednesday, August 30 and September 6. Women business owners located in the San Luis Valley, Southwestern and Southern Colorado are encouraged to attend. These workshops are free and are presented online via Zoom. If you attend both workshops, you are eligible to apply for a seed grant for your business.

Details on these workshops are below!
Are you planning to attend West Slope Startup Week in Durango? If so, please stop by and see me! I'll be there on Wednesday, August 23 from 9-11am at the FLC Innovation Center and would love to answer any questions you have about FSWCF.

If you are a Cottage Food Producer you don't want to miss the safety course and certification offered by Colorado State University on September 12. The registration link is below.
Last but certainly not least, I would like to recognize two stellar individuals: JJ Desrosiers and Ty Coleman. Mr. Desrosiers just wrapped up his service on our Board of Directors. JJ, thank you for the time and talent you contributed to our organization. Mr. Coleman, currently serves on our Board of Directors and was recently appointed to The Colorado Trust board of trustees. Congratulations, Ty, they are lucky to have your wisdom and insight. And, so are we!

Please reach out to me at azarelmc@fswcf.org if you have questions about any of our loans, grants or education programs. Thanks for reading and sharing our work.

In gratitude,
-Azarel Madrigal
Executive Director
