Dear First name / parents,

In a recent Instagram post, we highlighted the importance of Floortime for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Floortime therapy, founded by psychiatrists Stanley Greenspan, M.D. and Serena Wieder, Ph.D., is part of the Developmental Individual-difference Relationship-based model (DIR).

The DIR is an approach to early intervention for autism and developmental delays, helping children with autism to build communication and cognitive skills during therapy.

What is Floortime?

Floortime is when therapists and children play on the floor. This play method is child-led, allowing them to choose the activities and toys they want to play with.

Children are encouraged to communicate through play and engage in back-and-forth dialogue with their therapists.

As a result, children can enhance their communication and cognitive skills through tactile play.
Although the Floortime method helps speech and language skills, the primary goal is to develop emotional and intellectual skills.

At Fluens Children’s Therapy, we use the play-based Floortime method with our patients and have seen them thrive.

Contact our clinic to learn more about our services and if they’d be a good fit for your child. We’d love to answer any questions you may have!

We look forward to hearing from you,

The Team at Fluens Children’s Therapy
