๐ Airbnb: The New Family Summer Haven
โ
The summer season has revealed a significant increase in family travels via Airbnb. Trips booked by families on the platform rose nearly 10% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period in the previous year. These adventurous families have explored over 13,000 destinations, with the majority opting for two or three-bedroom listings. The appeal of Airbnb for families lies in the ability to unplug from the daily grind and create cherished memories in diverse locations, all while staying together under one roof.
Airbnb's offerings have proven to be more than just accommodations; they have become summer homes for families, providing more space for money, kitchens, and even amenities for pets. A third of US listings have three bedrooms or more, and nearly 10% have cribs for small children. The growing trend of families choosing Airbnb over traditional hotels is further supported by a survey showing that 66.9% of recent travelers get at least seven hours of sleep in a vacation rental, compared to 53.8% in a hotel or motel. This summer, families are not just heading to traditional vacation spots but also to big cities like Saint Paul, MN, Baltimore, MD, and Cincinnati, OH, showcasing the wide-ranging travel possibilities offered by Airbnb.
