It is with a deep sense of gratitude that we sit down to pen this birthday message.
Two years ago today, I (Aimée) hit publish onthis post and launched The Devoted Collective into the world. It was the beginning of something new in my own life–God was teaching me to dream with Him and to be bold in my obedience, and I fervently prayed that it would be a source of growth and deeper fruitfulness for each of you also. I was quickly left in a state of awe at the incredible team God gathered around Devoted, but honestly, I was also quickly overwhelmed at the enormity of what He was inviting me to partner with Him in.
A few months in, I (Em) responded to the call God gave me to lay down all paid income and serve alongside Aimée as The Devoted Collective’s Project Manager. After nine months, it became apparent to us both that God was asking me to share the responsibility of leadership and ownership with Aimée in a more permanent way, and so one year ago today, we became co-Directors. I caught the vision early of what God had in store for the women who would encounter The Devoted Collective, be that through the podcast, published materials and resources, or online, and could see the fruit that Devoted would bring for God’s glory and the good of others. I needed the discipleship, encouragement, and spiritual wisdom that Devoted had to offer as much as I wanted to share it far and wide to bless you and spur you on in your walk with our Father too.
God has graciously allowed us to accomplish so much in these first two years. We have:
Released the first volume of Prayers for a Generation.
Written and run four deep dive Bible reading plans, each with a companion devotional, weekly video teaching and commentary as well as feature interviews.
Developed six discipleship courses covering topics like how to read the Bible, prayer, biblical community, spiritual warfare.
Compiled two Advent reading plans.
Released our compilation devotional “Morning Musings.”
Launched our free daily dose email devotions (if you’re not getting these, you NEED to sign up here).
Created our first merch with our ALL IN sweatshirts (and had our first photoshoot to celebrate).
Created a very special membership Community where over one hundred women are not only being discipled, but are also growing together and forming rich and lasting connections.
Are gearing up for our FIRST in-person event and release of a custom, hand-made beauty (keep your eyes peeled).
And made a tonne of new friends while doing it!
None of this would have been possible without our incredible team who have decided to go ‘all in’ to help others to pursue the MORE God has for them by so generously and sacrificially serving this ministry with their time and talents. It also would not have been possible without the support of our husbands who released us to forgo incomes to build Devoted and sowed their own paycheques into meeting the costs. Thank you does not seem adequate for all that people have given and contributed to see this God-dream realised.
We have so much more in our hearts to do through Devoted, so many resources we are busy creating behind the scenes to serve you and help you draw closer to the Father’s heart. But the practical reality is that our families can no longer afford to carry the financial costs of this ministry, and this year, we have both returned to the workforce to help provide for our households, reducing the capacity we have to do all the things that are necessary for this ministry to continue to function and grow.
However, we remain committed to continuing to build Devoted because we believe that when women thrive in their relationship with God it directly impacts their wellbeing, their homes, their workplaces, and their communities. And our heart is to help you grow with God for years to come.
So this year, we’re doing something different for our birthday. Rather than our usual giveaway where we bless you, we are asking you to bless us–to prayerfully consider giving to Devoted and sowing into the future so that this baby ministry can keep going and grow into maturity.
Over in the store, you’ll find donation ‘squares’ ranging from $10 to $500 that you can purchase. Each square comes with some digital gifts as a thank you for your support and one hundred percent of your donation will go to running costs for 2024 (please know that neither of us take a salary from Devoted, this is our labour of love to serve you in this season). If everyone on our mailing list gave just $10 we would meet all our costs for the coming year–and if some gave more, our future impact could be even greater.
