As a family-run Country House Hotel, Did you know that Lydgate House Cottage is part of our portfolio? Our exquisite 3-bedroom self-catering barn conversion, situated within the hotel grounds. The Cottage has it’s own private drive and car park away from the hotel so you always know you can access your property with ease.  This charming cottage accommodates up to six guests and warmly welcomes both pets and children, ensuring a delightful stay for the whole family, where children and pets can play and explore, it’s a perfect family getaway.

I booked Lydgate House based on it's size and location, preferring the iniimacy of a smaller hotel. Postbridge is in the middle of Dartmoor and therefore the hotel is in a great location for walking and touring. Be aware that almost all the roads are narrow single track on Dartmoor including the track to the hotel. The hotel is comfortable and welcoming with a cosy lounge and airy dining room. The small double Bedroom was comfortable and functional with a wonderful view of the river and woodland. I enjoyed breakfast and dinner, the food was good and Sarah, John & Kelly were friendly and helpful. Overall, a great place for a restful stay or to explore Dartmoor, I would stay again.
