In preparation for the Coventry Big Bike Ride on Sunday 10 September the following information may help you with any travel arrangements during the day.
 
Coventry City Council is working with TfWM to help you prepare to plan ahead and receive the latest information on temporary road closures and diversions, changes to parking controls and travel advice. It may be that staff travel to work, access and deliveries may be affected during the Event.
 
There will be some changes to traffic conditions on roads around Coventry on Sunday 10
September. The information regarding the affected roads and bus diversions are available
here: TfWM - Coventry Big Bike Ride.
 
If you are travelling into Coventry Centre you are encouraged to travel by public transport,
cycling or walking. 
 
Travelling by Bus:
The following Coventry Bus services will be affected by the road closures:
12X and 11 (towards the City Centre only) will not serve Little Park Street, Earl Street, Cox
Street or Fairfax Street. The nearest stopping places for these services are Pool Meadow Bus
Station and New Union Street.
Mile Lane bus service 21 will use Quinton Road (Service 17 bus stops) and Daventry Road
instead of Mile Lane and Queen Isabel’s Avenue.
Please plan ahead, check public transport timetables and any impacted bus routes on
www.tfwm.org.uk
 
Travelling by Rail
Please plan your journey in advance using the Transport for West Midlands journey planner.
Services may be busier so please plan ahead.
 
Walking and Cycling:
Find out where you may be able to park your bike at https://www.cyclestreets.net/. You can also get around Coventry by bike by using the West Midlands Cycle Hire scheme – visit Home - West Midlands Cycle Hire.
 
If you are not attending the event and are travelling by vehicle, it is recommended to avoid the area or use the designated diversion routes.
 
Coventry city centre will be busier than usual, please plan ahead and allow extra time for your
journey. You can plan your journey using the TfWM Journey Planner.

NIGHTTIME ECONOMY MEETING
We've been working hard to support our night-time economy businesses throughout our first quarter. Having launched the Best Bar None workshops, many of our venues have been preparing for their assessments. We have also supported by offering ACT training and Wave training, door supervisor and first aid courses at the BID office.
 
We’d love you to join us at our upcoming Night-Time Economy meeting which will be held at our office on 14th September. Our aim is to build a stronger network of businesses, so make sure your business has a voice at the table. The meeting will be an opportunity to hear about the initiatives that the BID are involved with, but also for you to provide feedback and to ask questions about opportunities you can be involved in.
