Raising Foundations, Releasing Dreams

Hi First name / friend!

We hope you enjoyed your summer! The Station's summer was full & wonderful!
Since our launch in April, we have been building rapidly!
When we planned the launch, we thought that each of the three phases, or “tiers," would happen consecutively over time. However, to our surprise, that has not been the case. The Mentorship, The Stations, and The Summit tiers of The Station vision have been taking place simultaneously.

The Mentorship
In July, we launched our mentorship program and began accepting applications. Now the calendar is almost full!
If you would like to join the mentorship program apply here!

The Stations
We have also begun our partnership with several nonprofit organizations!

Smile I Stutter

Smile I Stutter is a registered 501©3 nonprofit organization that offers speech therapy and other essential mental health services to all those with a speech impediment. They work with children and families, licensed speech pathologists, and donors in efforts to provide the best resources available. They also host events and connect those with speech problems to each other so they can provide friendship and support so everyone knows they are never alone in their journey

How We Were Able to Help:
Along with mentoring their founder, Rachel is now on the board of directors for Smile I Stutter. The Station is a sponsor of the Smile I Stutter “Be Kind Golf Classic” coming up on September 19th! If you are in the Dallas area and want to play, or even just want to sponsor this fundraising event, please follow the link below!

The Namugga Mable Foundation - Trey Junior School

The Namugga Mable Foundation supports underserved children in the areas of Nansana, a suburb of Kampala City, in Uganda.  NMF also supports single mothers through their orphanage and school programs. The organization was started in 2019, and became an official NGO in 2022, and was founded by Namugga Mable, to bring hope to these people in the community. They have Trey Junior School and Shalom Junior School, which support around 150 children and 14 staff. They aim to help children in their academic endeavors, emotional development and physical wellbeing, through full-time residential care at their orphanage

How We Were Able to Help:
In December, The Station was one of the financial supporters that helped the Namugga Mable Foundation build a building for the Trey Junior School, that was completed in February. We have also been able to provide 150 Bibles to the school students, and three months of daily meals for the students of the Trey Junior School.

The Summit
Our heart has always been about getting people into the great outdoors and this summer The Station hosted two retreats up to Mammoth Lakes, CA.
Backpacking Adventure
Image item

Mission Isla Vista young adults joined us for a backpacking trip, where a group of 14 spent three nights in the backcountry fighting the elements during hurricane Hillary!  This was a week filled with adventure, as the crew hiked 6 miles to Deer Lakes and then trekked over 10,000 ft summits to Pika Lake.  The rain didn't stop us from accomplishing our 16 mile trip! Jumping into the crystal clear lakes, bonding while staying dry under a tarp, speaking life into one another, praying together & hiking with everything we needed to survive on our backs, created memories that will last a lifetime!
Backpacking cultivates a sense of accomplish for each individual, that draws them outside their comfort zones, and breaks through fear!  This group of young people embraced the challenges on this trip, and their lives will be forever changed by this outdoor expedition!

Jesus Burgers House Retreat

The Jesus Burgers House joined us in Mammoth Lakes for their annual retreat, before the Jesus Burgers Ministry starts on September 22nd in Isla Vista, CA.

This was an incredible time of team building/bonding, ministry training, & prepping for a year of ministry.  The team of fourteen young adults got to hike together, fly off of a rope swing into Gull Lake, kayak, play kickball, ride on a pontoon boat, visit several coffee shops :), worship, pray & have amazing conversations throughout their retreat!  Early morning devotions, while enjoying a view of several lakes, set the tone for each day at the retreat.  The Bowmans' condo driveway has become a place where teams are hosted for dinners & worship sessions.  Our hearts were filled with immense gratitude while we hosted this amazing team for 5 days; it was truly a redemption for the lost camp years!!

How We Were Able to Help:
The Station was able to fund both the backpacking trip & the JB retreat, so that there was no cost for the young adults!  Funding included all meals, lodging, backpacking supplies/equipment/permits, & boat rentals for the crew to experience the great outdoors. A wonderful couple donated their home for the guys to stay before and after the backpacking trip.  And since The Station does not have a ‘retreat center’ yet, we rented an airbnb for lodging the 14 JB House young adults to stay.  *(We do hope that in The Station's future, that instead of renting airbnbs, we will have a property for retreats like these!)

This will be the 2nd year that Rachel & Peter are coming alongside the Jesus Burgers House as mentors & a support system, to ‘raise foundations & release dreams’ of the young generation!

Say hello to our team!
Sierra Bowman
Designer
"I'm a multifaceted individual with a passion for adventure and creativity. As a former professional skier and current musician, I've carved my own unique path through life. I grew up at the first "Station" and I'm thrilled to be a part of this new season of opportunities and experiences."

Madi Bishop
Business Consultant
"I have a passion to help champion those with 'God-sized' dreams. I wrapped up my master's in business in 2021 right before meeting Rachel and Pete and have been working with them ever since. As The Station is gearing up to release dreams, my husband and I will be spending the next few months championing a coffee business and ministry in Morelia, Mexico."

Michelle Wheelus
Executive Assistant
"I have been involved with The Station since 2015, when it was still The Station 1.0 and acted as their camp “chef.”
I enjoy riding motorcycles, singing, and hiking as well as creating art in many different forms. But above all I have a passion to see peoples dreams come to fruition and I'm glad that I get to be a part of the process The Station will walk people through."

As you can see, The Station is reaching the young generation in many ways, through mentorship, by collaborating with several nonprofit organizations & by hosting camps!  And we cannot do this without your support!

Will you consider praying for us as we continue to ‘Raise Foundations & Release Dreams’?

The Station is raising funds, so that we can continue to host groups for backpacking trips & camps.  We are also in great need of new backpacking equipment; our backpacks & sleeping bags are 20 years old!
As much as we love The Bowmans' ‘driveway dinners’, their condo is not big enough to host groups over 10 people, and outside dinners are not possible in the Mammoth winter months!  Our Station Team is praying for a new ‘Retreat Center,' will you consider partnering with us financially for this new property?

Thank you so much for making a donation here: https://pushpay.com/g/thestationcorp

Once again, thank you for your support!
