Hi friends,

How was your week?

If you don't pause to reflect on your day, week, and month, you will feel your days are the same. I can't remember where I heard this wonderful metaphor: "Gratitude is like digestion," because it describes what I think about the importance of pausing to reflect; It helps me digest my blessings and the events of my life.

I am glad I allocated some time last week to do my monthly review for August after skipping it in the first two months of the summer. Doing the monthly review helped me appreciate the beautiful times I had getting together with dear friends before they traveled back home.

This week, I encourage you to take some time to write what you are grateful about today before you sleep, or as soon as you start having your coffee in the morning, and, of course, before scrolling social media. Write one to three things you are grateful for every day, then read them all at the end of the week as part of your weekly review and see for yourself how one week can hold so much goodness.

Try it, and let me know!

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 5 3 sparks to ignite fireworks, that I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. đź“‚"The final final final file", do you still use this method to name your files? Here is your kind reminder from Seth Godin.

2. 🖋️She's writing again! I love her writing so much. She  taught me a type of journaling that I share in my journaling workshop (stay tuned if you want to grab my journaling course soon), and what do you know, Letters from Love is the title of her new blog.

3. 📧 This passage is from a book that I have been enjoying and slowly reading  recently called The Comfort Book by Matt Haig; it would have been perfect for the beginning of summer:

I hope this email finds you well

I hope this email finds you calm.
I hope this email finds you unflustered about your inbox.
I hope this email finds you in a state of acceptance that this email isn’t exactly important in the cosmic scheme of things.
I hope this email finds your work happily unfinished.
I hope this email finds you beneath a beautiful sky with the wind tenderly caressing your hair like an invisible mother.
I hope this email finds you lying on a beach, or maybe beside a lake.
I hope this email finds you with the sunlight on your face.
I hope this email finds you eating some blissfully sweet grapes.
I hope this email finds you well but, you know what, it is okay if it doesn’t because we all have bad days.
I hope this email finds you reading a really good poem or something else that requires no direct response from you.
I hope this email finds you far away from this email.
