Happy Monday, boo!

Today I have to get real with you about the one thing that you're probably not getting enough of: SLEEP.

I get it; life is hectic. You may feel like there are never enough hours in the day to tackle your to-do list. But here's the thing: your to-do list will still be there tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.

What won't be here - if you keep neglecting it - is your well-being.

So, let's talk about sleep.

Because it isn't just a luxury; it's a necessity. It's the time when your body and mind recharge, repair, and revitalize. It's when your brain sorts through the chaos of the day, making sense of it all, and preparing you to face whatever comes next.

Think of sleep as your secret weapon. When you're well-rested, you're more focused, creative, and efficient. Your decision-making is sharper, your mood is brighter, and your body is better equipped to handle stress. In other words, you're a whole powerhouse.

But when you're sleep-deprived, it's like trying to run a race with both legs tied together. Sure, you can hobble along, but you're not performing at your best. You're processing things slower, prone to mistakes, irritable, and even risk health issues.

I know you're thinking, "But I can't afford to sleep more, Ari!", but here's the truth: you can't afford not to, boo.

Getting less than six hours of sleep per night on a regular basis has been associated with an increased risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. It has also been linked to a shorter life expectancy.

So, here's my challenge to you: carve out a sacred sleep sanctuary in your life. Set a regular sleep schedule and stick to it as much as possible. Create a bedtime routine that signals to your body that it's time to wind down – maybe it's reading, gentle stretching, or a calming cup of herbal tea.

Resist the urge to binge-watch that new series into the wee hours. Your favorite show will still be there tomorrow, but your energy and vitality won't if you don't get enough sleep.

As adults, it is recommended that we get 7-9 hours of sleep, but these are general guidelines. Some people may feel well-rested with slightly more or slightly less sleep. Pay attention to your own body. If you consistently feel tired during the day, have difficulty concentrating, or experience other symptoms of sleep deprivation, it may be a sign that you need more sleep.

And hey, I get it; life throws curveballs and life be lifeing. There will be nights when sleep just ain't happening despite your best efforts. But don't let that discourage you. Keep striving for better sleep, because each night you rest well is a night you invest in a brighter, more energized version of yourself.

Morning Mantra
By prioritizing sleep, I am not stealing time from my day; I am investing in a better, more productive tomorrow.

Personal Recommendation
This year I invested in an Oura Smart Ring and it has been a game changer for improving my sleep habits (listen…data doesn't lie!). It tracks my daily activity - from sleep to my daily movement. My scores tell me how my body feels and what my body needs, every second of every day. Ya girl knows when she needs more sleep, when I might be getting sick — and more :)
