Given the weekend (and the last few years… oh: and always) it's clear that the world needs
  • our rage at injustice + violence,
  • our outsider solutions to this mess that madmen + insider power-holders continue to create, and
  • our most humane and healing designs for a future that sustains us all.
There's enough to do. What matters is finding YOUR way to shift things.

p.s. In times like these I find helping out is the only thing that helps me out. So below is my newsletter - my continued effort to support us all as on the long walk to justice.

Hello, fellow well-meaning whites. :)

If your event / leadership circle is a super-majority white (or to my tech readers: mostly pale AND male) - you're probably feeling a little squeamish about that.

If you read this newsletter, you obviously “get it” that the future is inclusive! (Your water bottle sticker might even say that.)

My clients have likely always voted left. Probably donate to the ACLU, a Black-led organization or two, and definitely try to not to assume the gender of their kid's crushes.)

But, you sometimes wind up with a company/retreat/event/circle that looks more homogenous than you'd like…

Here's why: if we don't put in consistent effort - on the right things - we end up with a homogenous business (+ social life) from the 1950's suburbs.

(Yes: Even if the “song in our heart” is way queerer + more badass + colorful).

Realtalk: Loving “diversity" (but not doing anything to change things) maintains the status quo just the same as if you were an actual bigot.        (ouch.)

Below are my secrets to curating racially diverse, women-elevating, queer/trans-affirming events, nonprofit Boards, and company-wide inclusion efforts, given the example of a panel presentation:
