Hey everyone welcome back to the Radical Content Newsletter! This is a post I have been wanting to write for a few weeks because it’s just flat out fun. Let’s go. |

🚀 Featured Topic - Strange & Interesting social accounts everyone must see Every week I see different YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram channels that catches my attention. The two I am highlighting today are doing something very simple, very well. This is a reminder that when you pair with a great original creative concept, published with consistently, there is a good chance you will build an audience. Check out these two examples: Satisfying Example #1 SB Mowing - @smbowing This is a freaking mowing company who has 1.8 million followers on Instagram, 1.5 million subs on YT. His bit is pretty simple. He rolls up to houses with overgrown yards, and offers to mow them for free. For each yard he mows he creates a satisfying timelapse videos that shows you the entire process beginning to end. I swear I can’t stop watching these. It’s part cool story, but also part heartfelt because he is really helping people. |

I shared with with my friend who has a pool leak detection company and said, “no small business can ever say again we just don’t have a story to tell or social media content doesn't work for us.” Anyone can do this, you just need a great original idea. If this dude get’s $.05 per view from YouTube advertising share, he has made $8 mil. Crazy! |

Satisfying Example #2 thep00lguy ML - @thep00lguy_ML This dude runs a local pool company, like any other random weekly pool cleaner in your neighborhood. But he does something obviously different because he has over 600k followers on IG, and 2.2m subs on YouTube. He also used satisfying timelapse videos showing green pools and making them crystal clear. If this hits my feed, I always want to see how good the pool looks at the end. |

At $.03 per view on YouTube, he has made $3.5 mil. Crazy! |

What can we learn? - It's all about the video – just get filming.
- No holding back – with a unique idea, anyone can captivate.
- "Before-and-after" themed videos are incredibly gratifying to view.
- Authentic, low-tech videos often outperform those shot with high-end cameras.
- Big production teams and fancy graphics aren't prerequisites.
- Regular posting and showcasing your personality are key.
- Use new modern social best practices: music, maybeVO, and for sure captions when needed

🔥 Content of the Week - The entertaining content inspiring us from all over the internet. Apple’s Mother Nature Film - WATCH HERE - If you have not seen this you should. Now I am not here to say this is the funniest thing ever, and I for sure am not going to debate whether Apple is as focused on the environment as they suggest, but as a content and creative person this stands out because they did something different, creative, and unique. They didn’t just do the same ole thing they do every year. They thought of an original idea for this message to travel well on digital, and it did over 2 million views on YT alone. |

📖 Studiotales - Weekly Stories from Maverick Content Studio What is on my mind this week: Leaving corporate to start Maverick was a big risk to some, but not to me. It was clear that I had to follow my passion and purpose, and I am so glad I did. But everyday there are new risks and decisions you have to make as an early stage entrepreneur. Here are two big challenges on my mind as we build. - BIZ DEV - Do you dig in and focus on executing the current work and sacrifice tomorrow, or do you work hard to execute today’s work but keep on eye on the vision for tomorrow? My gut tells me, this idea is big and it will work. Therefore, I must keep the vision in mind and keep pushing this company to reach our goals. Which leads to another very tactical question below.
- MAVERICK CREW - How do you best build your team - invest early, or move slowly? I didn't leave Universal, and name this company Maverick to be small and move slow. To fully realize the vision of Maverick Content Studio we have to have a super talented team of like minded creators, makers, and producers helping me on this mission. We are getting good client interest, and to capitalize on that, we need to build the right team with the right players. To build Maverick Content Studio we can’t be afraid of some risk, but we also need to be wise.
I am excited to see how both of these challenges play out in the coming months. |
