a wee bit of a recap...

VisitScotland invited me over the pond and I had the time of my life!! Here's my favs from each stop on the trip, in case you're planning your own or want to take a little virtual vacation on your lunch break:

Edinburgh
Oh, Edinburgh, where do I begin?? One of my favorite cities of all time, truly magical. A place everyone should try and experience at least once. If I were planning your trip, here's how it would go:

Book a room at Eden Locke in the New Town district and grab a pastry at the lobby cafe on your way in.

The Grassmarket area and Victoria Street are a must, as is a coffee at Milkman, but my favorite area to explore and shop is Stockbridge.

For eats, you have to go to Baba, Spry Wines, The Pantry, Spry Wines, and Copper Blossom. Oh! Did I mention Spry Wines?

Seeing Edinburgh Castle is a rite of passage (just make sure to book ahead) as is the quick hike up Arthur's Seat.

There's so much more to see and explore, these are just a few of my favorite things to get you going.

Glasgow
If you're arriving by train (the trains are very easy to navigate in Scotland!) grab a bite to eat at Panang Thai right by the station.

Afterwards, shop around City Center and pop into my favorite store called End for some fun finds and unique gifts.

For thrifting, you'll want to head over to the West End. Tons of charity shops and great brunch options too. Spend an afternoon exploring the Kelvingrove Museum & Glasgow Botanic Gardens or take the train two stops further to Pollok Country Park to meet some Highland Cows.

Gleneagles
There's a reason they call Gleneagles “The Glorious Playground”…

This 5 Star Luxury Resort is tucked away an hour north of Glasgow and easily accessible by train. If you're already across the pond, a night or two at Gleneagles is a MUST.

Enjoy horseback riding, the spa, world class golf, fishing, shooting, and other endless activities right on the property.

If it sounds like I've memorized the brochure, it's because I have and I've been reciting it trying to pitch my friends on a return trip.

Thank you again to VisitScotland for gifting me this incredible opportunity! Check out their page for even more Scotland travel spots.
