October
& welcome to flower land
Dear readers,

Happy October! It’s officially witch season - aka the time of year when it’s said that the veil between worlds is thin. From Halloween to the Hunter’s Moon to Dia de los Muertos later this month, the falling leaves remind us of our own mortality, impermanence, and ancestry (and your sign to watch Disney Pixar’s Coco again!).

It is also the season of marigolds (one of my favorites) which symbolize the divine, auspiciousness, purity, and passion. We string these radiant sunshine blooms into garlands to ward off evil spirits with their potent smell, while honoring all of those who have come before us. And during this harvest season, we reflect upon our new year’s intentions to consider all that we have manifested up until this time.

Magic, manifestation, visualization - it all means the same to me: the ability to clearly imagine a new reality, and then work to make it true. Once we set these intentions, I believe that our mind makes conscious and subconscious decisions in alignment with our vision. That’s why visualization exercises are so powerful - it creates a compelling story for us to latch onto. To see is to believe, but transversely, to believe is also to see. We find ourselves following our guiding light with willingness and determination.

I often think of the quote from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it” - and I believe it to be true.

For me, witchcraft means nothing other than tapping into the power of our mind to reify our dreams. Because we don’t fully understand how our minds work, 'witchcraft' historically has represented the numinous, and therefore fear for what we do not know; what we cannot control. Yet I believe this is the beauty of witchcraft: the beckoning of curiosity and the bending of our will. At this crux of mystery and manifestation, lies magnetism and magic.

Recently, I have been reflecting upon the concept of magnetism - the invisible forces that connect us together, that propels us towards certain ideas, specific people, and pivotal life choices. Deeply and intuitively, sometimes we feel a pull so strong that we cannot avoid crashing into its wake. These are the lucky moments, the “aha” moments, the moments of seeing the signs and seizing the day; carpe diem.

A few months ago, a moment magnetized - I came across The Huntress NY online while shopping for ceramic vessels sold locally. I immediately fell in love with their ethos and aesthetic. Naturally, I followed them on Instagram. That same afternoon, I received a phone call from none other than The Huntress, who said they were manifesting a resident florist that very day and saw my Fleurvoyant account follow them. Cue the pixie dust!

Founded by interior designer, Jenny Wolf, The Huntress sells various curated treasures from custom furnishings, home goods, wellness products, and fashion. Jenny said she could no longer ignore the signs herself, and felt the pull to open the flagship store’s doors in Pound Ridge, Westchester in 2019.

The Huntress' namesake is inspired by the Greek myth of Artemis, goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, and the moon. With deep connection to nature, Artemis fiercely protects the wild and its waters. She has perfect aim with her bow and arrow. And in some legends, rather than seeking out her kills, she instead uses her powers to attract them - she magnetizes them to her.

Moreover, The Huntress archetype deeply resonates with me: I come from a lineage of hunters, with my great-grandmother deer hunting well into her 90's - and my middle name, Regina, honors her.

On that note, I’m thrilled to officially announce Fleurvoyant’s partnership with The Huntress New York. We’ll be selling fresh stems and bouquets every week at the Pound Ridge store, as well hosting festive flower workshops every month.

What's more - The Huntress will be opening up a boutique in the heart of West Village in New York City later this fall. We'll have a permanent Fleurvoyant flower shop corner inside selling blooms, bouquets, and gift bundles. We hope you stop by and say hi!

In the meantime, keep magnetizing.

xx,
Emily

A TAROT SPREAD FOR
Magnetizing
This simple tarot card spread is designed to help you gain insight, clarity, and guidance on your path to manifesting your heart's desires.

1. Set Your Intention
Begin by taking a moment to focus on the specific dream or desire you want to manifest. Hold it in your mind and heart as you shuffle the tarot cards.

2. Shuffle and Draw Your Cards
Shuffle the deck while keeping your intention in mind. When you feel ready, draw three cards from the deck, one at a time. These cards represent the energies and insights needed to manifest your dream.

Card Positions

Card 1: "The Seed" - This card represents the core of your desire. What is at the heart of your dream?

Card 2: "The Growth" - This card reveals the actions or steps needed to nurture and grow your dream.

Card 3: "The Harvest" - This card provides insight into the potential outcome or manifestation of your dream.

3. Interpret Your Cards
Take a moment to study each card's imagery, symbolism, and your intuitive feelings about them. Consider how they relate to your intention. Write down your interpretations.

4. Reflect and Visualize
Close your eyes and visualize your dream as if it has already come true. Feel the emotions associated with this manifestation. How do the cards' messages align with your visualization?

5. Take Inspired Action
Use the insights gained from the cards to guide your actions. What can you do, based on the guidance provided, to move closer to your dream?

6. Express Gratitude
Express gratitude to the tarot cards, the universe, or your higher self for the guidance received. Trust that the process is in motion.

Remember that tarot readings are a tool for self-reflection and guidance (not divination), and the real magic happens when you take inspired action in alignment with your vision.
