Let's break down the energetic opportunities at hand and what to be mindful of on our daily journeys…
The Super Full Moon in Aries opposes the Sun in Libra.
Shoutout to all the Libra Suns and Libra Risings! It's your season! Ruled by Venus, the goddess of love, the Sun is shining a bright light on all Venusian things – love, relationships, money, and beauty – and they all play an essential part in what's coming up to be seen and healed now.
Libra rules the seventh astrological house of partnerships and contracts, so they're under the Sun's spotlight for release and rebalancing. This means that our familial, platonic, romantic, financial, business, and political contracts are under review. And we can’t disregard the agreements we have with ourselves – the mindsets, beliefs, habits, and preferred language.
Opposing the Sun in Libra is the Super Full Moon in Mars-ruled Aries – the last Super Moon of 2023! (Can you believe we're already using “last of 2023” in a sentence?!) This is the midway point of the lunar cycle that began with the New Moon in Virgo on September 14 that brought focus to our systems and organization, work habits, service, health and fitness. Consider what clarity you were offered, what intentions you set, and what's started to change in this regard since then.
As the bright Sun opposes an equally bright Super Full Moon in Aries, a warrior energy that's all about initiating the self, this moment represents me versus we and self versus others. It's active and headstrong Aries opposing Libra that loves balance, harmony, and peace. It's the bold AF magnification from an Aries Super Moon on what the Libra Sun season is all about – what's out of balance and what we have to do or undo to harmonize our lives.
As the Moon aligns in Aries, it's also aligning with the North Node since Aries is where the North Node is stationed until 2025. The nodes, North and South, are believed to be highly energetic points guiding us to see what we have to learn and integrate (North Node) and what we have realize and leave behind (South Node).
With Aries being the first sign of the zodiac and this being a Super Full Moon, this energy isn't only about recalibrating our life's connections but reminding us that this could be a totally new beginning if we intend it to be. If we shift our perspective from group think to personal truth and make decisions intentionally centering our authenticity, highest and greatest good, and the highest and greatest good of all.
Ask yourself:
- What are the relationships/contracts I have in my life right now?
- Which don’t feel good to my mind, body, and spirit anymore?
- Which am I called to rebalance, and which do I need to release completely?
- If I am holding onto expired contracts, why do I keep renewing them? How does access to this [person/place/thing/habit/belief] contribute to my life and to the world?
- Who am I no longer willing to be in my relationship with others?
- Who am I no longer willing to be in my relationship with myself?
Questions like these make for a more extended journaling session. Set up a cozy and comfortable space, and take your time getting uncomfortable. Then, make like the energy of fiery Aries and practical Mercury in Virgo (planet of communication in a practical Earth sign) and create specific plans to change the landscape of your relationships.
This means holding yourself accountable for your part in creating any imbalances, and depending on who you are, this could mean tough but necessary conversations, budgeting time and money, making more of an effort, or breaking up for your and everyone’s greater good.
The entire Universe, God, the cosmos is already rearranging your connections – you’re totally spiritually supported in mirroring all of Its energy to change your own life. Design your every day according to what you want to feel, then tap into this Aries Super Full Moon energy and release your hold on your current structure. Blaze forward anew.
Speaking of blaze…
What it means for us: Venus is in tense aspect to Uranus
Venus is the planet of love, relationship, money, and beauty, and Uranus is the planet of powerful awakenings and upheaval. They similarly are powerful energies, but as they square each other, they give this week a dark tint of absolutely no chill.
Astrologer Pam Younghans says:
"When the goddess of Love and Beauty is in challenging aspect to the god of Chaos, there can be sudden or surprising developments in relationships or in financial situations. This square may trigger a need to rebel against restrictions in these areas, whether those controls be internalized or from outside pressure. The Venus-Uranus square represents a restlessness with the status quo, and a strong desire to bring in new energy.
This can be a very exciting time for some, but challenging for others, depending on what level of rebellion is activated or needed. The drive to break the rules and the urge to experience something new are heightened, leading people to act impulsively or in unexpected ways. Some could decide to end a relationship, while others might decide to elope; both actions represent a need to assert independence and to break free from expectations or traditions."
