Ayşegül is a dedicated teacher from Osmaniye (A city in the earthquake-affected region). Since the calamity happened, she channeled all her efforts into relieving her students' trauma by reaching out to people who want to provide them with a learning space. With our donors' help, we installed a container classroom for her and her students. Since then, she tried her best to embellish the container to make her students happy.
'In the early days, I engaged in playful activities with the children, bringing my puppet, Gümüş (which means 'silver' in Turkish). Through storytelling with my puppet, I aimed to convey that there are beautiful aspects to life and that everything will eventually be okay. As the days passed, I noticed a positive change in the children; their spirits began to lift. As a teacher, witnessing their gradual healing was incredibly motivating... The support we receive from individuals living abroad holds great significance. Our overseas supporters empathize with our situation and actively seek ways to assist afar. As a teacher, I am deeply grateful to each of them for their genuine contributions to the children, including container classrooms, stationery, and books. Their support seeds hope, recognizing that education is one of our country's most critical issues.'
