Picture this, First name / friend...

You spend hours and pour your heart and soul into creating jaw-dropping, mind-blowing content for your audience.

You craft the perfect carousel, film the best reel, and even record some really catchy Instagram stories so that your message resonates with your audience even more.

You post the content and then Instagram being the lovely little app that it is has an uNexPeCteD glitch and that content gets deleted… forever.

Sounds like an absolute nightmare, right? 🥴

Well it was…

That’s exactly what happened to MILLIONS of Instagram users last Halloween.

We said spooky season and Meta said hold my pumpkin spice latte. 👻

I’ll honestly never forget that day.

People were freaking out because not only were they losing their content, but they were also losing their followers and some even lost their account altogether.

Some got everything back… but some didn’t.

And guess what? There’s NOTHING they could do about it.

It’s because of scenarios like this ⤴️ that I always preach blogs first, socials second.

I didn’t just choose that as my motto because I’m a blog writer and it sounds cute.

NO – I chose that as my motto because when you adopt that as your content strategy, not only does it make your content creation easier all around, it also helps you avoid (or at least have a backup plan) for spooky situations like above.

And listen, I get it. Most of us loveeee social media (myself included) so it can be really hard to make this switch.

But nowhere did I say you have to give up your social media altogether! Heckkkk no, it can be a great tool to grow your business.

What I AM saying is to possibly consider moving social media a little lower on your priority list when it comes to content creation and make your life a little easier along the way.

Here’s what this can look like 👇🏼
Your Weekly Digest
The Content Funnel That Could Change Your Life (NOT Exaggerating)
Free Blog Content Creation Resources
It’s time that I introduce you to the content funnel that really could change your life – and no, I’m not exaggerating, because it really did change mine.

At the very top is your long-form content. This can come in the form of podcasts, YouTube videos, blogs, etc. – but you of course know which one I’d recommend!

There’s a few reasons you want to start here:
  1. This content has the LONGEST shelf life 📈
  2. You have greater ownership over this content 🔑
  3. You’re able to dive much deeper into the topic at hand 🤓
Once you have that content, it will then guide your content in the second tier.

And no, those platforms you see weren’t chosen by random – see this week’s blog post to understand why!

THEN, at the very bottom, after you’ve prioritized everything else, comes your beloved social media content.

Why does this come last?

Well, do you remember the scenario I talked about above? This is how you avoid that.

No, you can’t fully avoid Instagram glitching and deleting your content randomly, but what you CAN do is make sure that content is first housed in a place where you OWN it, so that you can always refer back to it and create future social content if needed. 🏠

The best part of all of this?

That ONE long form piece of content that you start with has the potential to become LOTS of variations on your other channels.

One blog post could truly become 5 emails or 5 social posts if you want it, too.

The limit does not exist.

There’s WAY more that goes into this content funnel, so to get the full scoop, I’m going to point you to some of my top content creation resources.
