The Sun and the New Moon Eclipse in Libra. Ruled by Venus, the goddess of love, the Sun has been shining a bright light on all Venusian things, but as its season with the Sun ends, we can no longer ignore what's in our face and on our minds. Let's get into the details and how we can best navigate all of this cosmic energy for healing, mind, body, soul self-care, and divine alignment.
Let's break down the energetic opportunities at hand and what to be mindful of on our daily journeys…

The Sun and New Moon Eclipse in Libra

Eclipse season…I'm sorry if you're feeling the mental and physical affects of it all. If it's any consolation, I'm feeling it 10-fold too.

The New Moon blacks out in Libra as its season starts to round out. Ruled by Venus, the goddess of love, the Sun in Libra has been shining a bright light on all Venusian things – love, relationships, money, and beauty. Libra also rules the seventh astrological house of partnerships and contracts. This means that our personal, familial, platonic, romantic, financial, business, and political contracts have been under deep review, but everything is coming to a blazing head now.

This Annular “Ring of Fire” eclipse in Libra (it's called a Ring of Fire eclipse because that's how it will look in the sky) is happening in conjunction with the South Node because the South Node is in Libra until 2025.

The nodes, North and South, are believed to be highly energetic points guiding us to see what we have to learn and integrate (North Node) and what we have realize and leave behind (South Node). With the South specifically in Libra, the cardinal air sign of relationships, money, and beauty, we're positioned to shed intensely with a focus on relationships, how we handle our people (social justice is highlighted), and how we handle our resources and finances. Again, this is MEGA heightened now, but these themes are where our shedding will be focused until 2025.

I always share journal and reflection prompts in these Cosmic Insights, but before I share some, I'm not just suggesting you reflect but urge you. This South Node Eclipse is severe, and not for no reason.

It is highlighting the areas of our lives where we are not putting in enough effort or working diligently enough. It's calling our attention to situations where we may be giving up, avoiding, or purposely distracting ourselves, and revealing the ways that we're focused on upholding appearances and superficial displays, while neglecting or denying the roots of our issues and disharmonies.

Pay attention to how this is manifesting in your life, but also, pay attention to how this is manifesting in the world. Here are some questions to let rest within you:
  1. How have my relationships transformed recently? What patterns have I noticed in my interactions with others? Which aspects of these relationships are currently under review, especially concerning love, respect, and mutual understanding?

  2. What commitments and contracts have I entered into, whether familial, romantic, financial, professional, or personal (mindsets and truths)? How have these agreements influenced my life? Are there contracts that I need to renegotiate or release? Am I balanced in giving and receiving in these commitments? Do these agreements align with my authentic self?

  3. In which areas of my life have I been putting in effort, and where have I been slacking? What am I avoiding and why? Are there situations where I've prioritized appearances over addressing deeper issues? What areas of my life would I like to focus on working more diligently and authentically on?

What it means for us: The New Moon Eclipse is conjunct the South Node and opposite Eris who is conjunct the North Node

If we're being specific, the Eclipse quincunx Uranus, quincunx Neptune, square Pluto, opposite Eris and conjunct the South Node. Basically, these are transpersonal planets, or outer planets that lie beyond those we see in the solar system. Energetically, they symbolize the patterns outside our personal lives, what we have in common with others in our generation.

As they come together, their cosmic volatility  is urging us to wake up and change, pushing us beyond being comfortable being asleep in the webs of our mind, and the matrix of society. If we've been avoiding addressing deep-seated issues, these celestial movements are forcing them into the open. We're obviously watching as this happens in the world through our phones. War, genocide, abuse of power, and decolonization are center stage. There is no denying the energies at play, so be mindful of what these catastrophic historical events are waking up within you, and/or what they're putting to bed for good.

This energy is colossal and has the potential to trigger profound transformations in our lives, offering opportunities for deep reformation. Simultaneously, it can be unsettling, challenging the stability of our relationships and foundations. Confronting these challenges and taking proactive steps is essential for the stabilization, growth, and balance.

Pay careful attention to how this resonates with you personally and how you are called to take action against the sources of pain, conflict, and disharmony in your life. And with great compassion, consider these energies in the context of current global conflicts. It's wild to experience people turn a blind eye to the fact that this and all revolutions don't just happen our of nowhere. That all of what is happening is for one reason: LIBERATION

Let us continue to breathe deep, educate ourselves, embrace complexity, advocate peacefully, and pray for increased peace for those who are suffering as a result of revolutionary movements. May we care for ourselves deeply, so that we may be ready to serve the world's dire causes, and so that we don't suffer through our personal revolutions too.

Let's talk about self-care.

I'm going to keep this short because I don't think I need to state the obvious – it is an absolute must that we prioritize rest, energetic hygiene, and nervous system regulation right now and for the rest of the month.

All zodiac signs rule parts of the body, and Libra rules he kidneys and bladder. Drink a lot of water, yes, but like the kidneys and bladder's function, this is a moment for deep C-ing: deep cleansing in regards to our consciousness and our capacity for critical thinking. Please remember wtf you are – a human being with a strong mind, a deep heart, and an even larger capacity to evolve with the world. May any darkness invite you to the shine so bright that you illuminate a world in need. Sending you and yours deep love.

Journal + Reflection Prompts
  • Virgo rules the sixth astrological house, so themes of systems and organization, work habits, service, health and fitness, and having a sense of usefulness are all highlighted for us.

How are these themes showing up in my life?

What about them is begging for cleansing and grounding?

  • Where have I been hesitating and second-guessing myself? Why?

  • Who am I when no one is watching me? How can I allow this authenticity to permeate my life?

If you're a premium member, you've probably had the pleasure of indulging in our first wellness event of the year, Birth Charting 101 led by Nadia of @selfloveastro. If you need a refresher or haven't watched the workshop yet, navigate to the Member Portal. It's the perfect workshop for beginners.

You can find your birth or natal chart for free online – I like using Chani Nicholas' chart generator on her website. Once you have your chart in front of you, locate the zodiac signs that pertain to this moment's astrology (the sign the Sun and Moon are in) and look at the number of the section they're in. That would be the astrological house you're looking for. You can Google “astrological houses" to get an accurate breakdown of what each means, but here is a breakdown you can use now via AstroStyle

Above is an example of Virgo being in the 9th House of travel, wisdom, philosophy, learning, and ethics, and Pisces being in the 3rd House of thinking, communication, early education, interests, neighbors, and siblings.

Knowing the houses makes all the difference in the energy and focus you can bring your intentions.
