Step 4 – Choose Your Dates Before registration day
Dates from January – June will be available for registration. July – September will be available for registration in February.

Choose your ideal test date and several locations that you would be willing to travel to on test day (you can look up locations by typing ‘Pearson Vue Testing Centers’ into google maps). I also recommend having at least one back-up date ready.

Note: You will have to pay a rescheduling fee to move your test date. Most dates will have times and locations that become available 6-8 weeks before, so it can  save money if you wait to register rather than choose a date/time that you do NOT want to take the exam.

Step 5 – registration day
Log in 10 minutes before noon and plan to be available at your computer for 3 hours. At 11:50AM EST the Waiting Room will open up and you will then be placed in order of when you logged in from 11:50AM onwards.

You will be placed in a waiting room until your turn. While in the waiting room, make sure your credit card and preferred dates are ready to go!

Once you get into the registration portal, you will look up your date and testing sites via zip code, and see available seats for those locations. Choose your date and location and then immediately put the 60-day and 30-day rescheduling date into your calendar.

How Do You Know When To Take The MCAT?
This is one of my top questions from students: What is the best time to take the MCAT? The short answer: when you are ready. But how long does that take?

The answer depends on three pieces of information:
  1. What is your starting point (your most recent practice exam score)?
  2. What is your goal score?
  3. How much time do you have per week to study?
Many students make the mistake of not taking a practice exam at the beginning of their prep, which I consider an essential step to building an effective study plan. In order to know how long and what to study, you need to know where you are starting.
Once you've taken a practice exam, you can use the Study Hours Calculator below to determine how much time is required to hit your goal score.

If you want more information about MCAT prep and next steps, sign up for an info session with me on November 3, 2023 @ 4pm EST.

Enjoy the rest of your October and as always,

Happy Studying,
