Hey First name / friend,
I hope you're having a fantastic day and relishing all the delightful treats that the Autumn season brings. 🍂🍁 The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity, filled with creative energy in my studio and exciting plans for the future. Many of you are already aware of a substantial collaboration I recently completed, and I'm thrilled to finally share the remarkable news with the rest of you.
Back in May, I submitted my work for consideration to the De Young Open 2023, competing among 7,000 other talented artists. Regrettably, I received word in August that my submission wasn't accepted.
BUT, here's where the story takes an exciting turn...
I am delighted to announce that I've had the privilege of being invited by the de Young Museum Store to represent Solano County, one of the nine Bay Area counties. Together, we embarked on a collaborative journey that has been truly inspiring. Drawing inspiration from the works of four legendary artists—Willem de Kooning, Ruth Asawa, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Josef Albers—currently housed in the museum's collection, I've infused each cup and mug I've crafted with my own distinctive style. The result is a collection of four unique styles that are truly one of a kind.
I feel an immense sense of gratitude for this remarkable opportunity and the incredible journey it has been. It's an experience that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Now, let's get to the exciting part...
My work is now available for purchase at the de Young Museum Store, in conjunction with the De Young Open 2023, which officially opened its doors on September 30th. To acquire a piece from this extraordinary collection of ceramic cups and mugs, you have two convenient options. You can visit the de Young Museum Store, purchase my work in person and also explore the De Young Open 2023 and other captivating collections, or you can make a purchase online by simply clicking on this link:
I'm truly excited to share this milestone with you, and I hope you consider adding one of my creations to your collection. Your continued support means the world to me, and I'm looking forward to see you in my studio soon.
Warm regards,
Lony
