notes in the margin
from the Ashley Brooke Book Club

Hi!
We've officially entered cozy book season and I am so excited. I've been devouring books lately (just finished this one yesterday and loved it!) and have started my hunt for the perfect holiday reads for us, although, I will say, November's book* is SO GOOD (exclusive preview for subscribers below!) and one of my favorite book of the entire year. I didn't want it to end. Anyway, I hope that our book picks help you escape and find a little joy!

Happy reading, friends!

xx Ashley Brooke

* But if you are feeling up for crafting your own, here's a post all about how to craft your own library tote! It's such a fun DIY.
my TBR book list
Speaking of fall books, I have a giant running list of to-be-read books* but these are the top three on my Kindle right now, ready and waiting…
  1. Tom Lake by Ann Patchett
  2. A Lady's Guide to Scandal by Sophie Irwin
  3. The Christmas Orphans Club by Becca Freeman
* I loved this list from Harper's Bazaar on the best spooky books to read this season!

bookish NEWS
Have you heard of the Serial Reader app? It's genius actually… it takes classic novels (think Little Women, Count of Monte Cristo, Jane Eyre, and so many more) and breaks them up into 20 minute "serials" akin to little articles and sends them to you to read every day. Would be perfect for holiday and classic reads this time of year!

So many of you asked about the Rifle Paper Co. library card I showed on my Stories, isn't it so pretty (see here!)? It was a collaboration between Rifle and my local library, but I really encourage you to visit your own community library and take advantage of the many incredible (and bookish) offerings. Like Festapalooza, a fun family event at the Winter Park Library on November 4th!

ALSO! Breaking news! The next Finlay Donovan novel is available for pre-order (here!). We just adore Finlay's hi-jinks and can't wait to see what caper she finds herself in next. (She was our March Book Club pick!)

We cannot wait!
