Welcome to Notes From Natty - our standing Friday morning coffee date (inbox style of course) where you get a weekly digest of stories, writing tips and a round up of the latest at Natty Writes. Grab your cup (I’ve got mine ☕️) & let’s dig in ⬇️

This time two years ago, we were packing our bags and getting ready for our long awaited trip to Sedona, Arizona for our micro-wedding. 🌵💍

Between pre-wedding festivities, the wedding itself, and our honeymoon, this is something that I spent an entire year planning.

From the day we got engaged – which also happened to be in Sedona, AZ (it’s my favorite state for a reason!) – to the day we boarded our flight in Atlanta anticipating our I Do’s in the desert, I spent HOURS on every single detail.

From the tablescape and ceremony songs to our honeymoon road trip itinerary and of course the outfits I would be wearing on the trip.

Many people get stressed by the thought of planning something like this – but being the natural planner that I am, I LOVED every single second of it.

Did it come without tears? Of course not. I can be a dramatic, sensitive girlie, don’t get me wrong.

But overall the planning process made the actual event that much more fun.

I had a perfectly organized document that was categorized by month so I knew what needed to be done by when.

And there was no better feeling than checking off those boxes month by month. ✅

In addition to this document, I also had multiple Canva presentations that detailed every aspect of the wedding day.

The overall timeline of the day. Which decor goes where. The seating chart. ALL OF IT was covered.

Was some of it maybe a little overboard and unnecessary? Maybe.

But it eased my mind and gave me the confidence I needed to be fully present with my bridesmaids on the morning of my wedding and trust that everything was being taken care of exactly how it needed to be.

I knew that the flowers would be put in the right spot.
I knew that the vendors would set up their pieces in the right place.
And I knew that everyone was aware of what time they needed to be where.

(I should note that we didn’t have an official wedding planner or day-of coordinator, so without all of my planning and preparation, the day could’ve gone very differently.)

I learned two things from this experience:
  1. If blog writing doesn’t work out, I might have a career in wedding planning
  2. Planning, preparing, and organizing can truly be the KEY to decreasing your stress (in any scenario) and allow you to fully enjoy what you’re doing.
ESPECIALLY when it comes to creating content in your business.

3 Things You Can Do If You Don't Know What To Write About

As a business owner, you’re probably all too familiar with this feeling…

You sit down in front of your computer with the intention to create new content for your audience…

But then you hit a roadblock because you have no idea what you should be creating. 🚧

What I’ve realized is that this roadblock often happens for 1 of 2 reasons:
  1. You have SO MANY ideas and things you want to share that you feel completely frozen and paralyzed when it comes time to actually get it out 🥶
  2. OR your creativity is totally tanked so you have no idea where to start with your content 📉
What tends to happen when you hit this roadblock, no matter which camp you might fall in, is what I like to call “panic posting” which is exactly what it sounds like - posting something out of panic.

The feeling of posting something is better than nothing hits and the next thing you know you’re posting with no real strategy or defined goal behind it.

But is posting something really better than posting nothing?

Is your audience really receiving value from something that you just threw together in the name of posting on your grid or keeping your weekly email newsletter streak alive?

Are they getting the full benefit from something that really didn’t come from your heart of wanting to help them?

I personally think not, which is why I’m excited to say that you don’t have to live in this zone!

➡️ There is a way for you to confidently create content for any platform you want WITH a solid plan that will provide real value to your audience. ⬅️

And it all begins with the… PLAN.

I’ll never not preach this, so I hope that even if you’re not a natural planner you’ll stay with me First name / friend, because I really believe ANYONE can implement this and reap the benefits.

Since I’m partial to prioritizing your blog content before anything else, I have a super solid and simple 4 step process you can follow to start planning and preparing with ease.

This is the process that I use for EVERY single client and is something that I continue to use for myself.

It’s what I attribute to consistently posting a new blog post each week and never feeling stuck on what to post.

It’s not stressful. It’s not confusing. And it’s not haphazardly done.

Instead, it’s strategic and efficient – two things that you want to embody in your business, right?!

And no… just because you have a plan doesn’t mean the plan can’t change – because being adaptable is *just* as important. But that’s a lesson for another day!

Getting THIS plan in place is the first step – but then comes the action.

And because I know that can often be the second hardest part for people, I’m doing something about it. 👀

In just a few weeks, you’ll receive all the details for a fun, collaborative way for you to actually implement blogs in your business – not just talk about doing it – consistently BEFORE the end of the year.

We’re channeling the new year energy early because your business is worth it. 🥂

I don’t have all of the details just yet, but to make sure I include what is MOST valuable to you, can you respond to this email and let me know your single biggest challenge with being consistent with blog content in your business?
