Coventry City Council, Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) and Visit Coventry want to support you by bringing in more visitors to the city centre over the festive period and have been working hard to provide some exciting events and activities.
 

Coventry City Council will be bringing a magical Big Wheel along with a Christmas market to Broadgate, occupying the whole centre square in addition to our traditional light switch on.

The Christmas Light Switch On will take place in Broadgate on Monday 13 November with an event from 5:30pm – 8pm. We are delighted to bring an evening of magical moments to entertain the whole family. Noise from the event is to be expected until 8pm.

 

The big wheel and festive market will be constructed in Broadgate until Friday 17 November. Installation will take place on the following dates:
Tuesday 14 November: 6am – 12am
Wednesday 15 November: 7am – 12am
Thursday 16 November: 7am – 7pm
Friday 17 November: 7am – 7pm

Noise levels will be low after 7pm and will be kept to a minimum where possible before this time.

Festive Market: Saturday 18 November 2023 – Sunday 7 January 2024

The festive market opens on Saturday 18 November at 11am and runs into the first week of January. Stalls at the market will be selling an array of culinary delights and gifts.

Broadgate will be home to a 35metre high wheel this festive period. The Big Wheel will be open during the day and into the evening on weekdays and weekends. It will be open daily (except 25 December) from 11am - 10pm at the latest, depending on visitor numbers and weather. As a result of this, you may wish to consider extending your opening hours to take advantage of the additional footfall in the city centre.

 

The Big Wheel and festive market will be dismantled over four days, starting on 8 January.

 

There will be no PA system in place but we do hope to welcome lots of local people and visitors so the area could feel a bit noisier than usual.

 

The sides of Broadgate will remain accessible to both pedestrians and vehicles that have access and access to your business will be available at all times.
 

 

Late night shopping starts in the city centre on Wednesday 29 November.
