I'm here to answer the eternal question… What's for dinner?

That's right! In case you missed it on Instagram, today I'm sharing all about my latest commercial project in Potomac, MD.

Gregorio's Trattoria in Potomac, MD has a fresh new look!

After selecting the artwork for the locations of Gregorio’s Trattoria in Bethesda, MD and Reston, VA, I was asked to work my magic for their restaurant at Cabin John in Potomac, MD.

First of all, can we talk about the much needed facelift that Cabin John Shopping Center has received? I grew up in this area, and personally, I am loving the new exterior look of whites and soft grays sprinkled with colorful wall murals (a huge upgrade over the uninviting dark brown of before). How cute are the cafe lights they added outside of this Gregorio's location?

The challenge for me with this interior was having one primary wall space that ran the length of the restaurant and needing to visually break up what would be a long, linear sightline. I also wanted to add texture and warmth to the wall.

The solution was to add three mini groupings of vintage breadboards to a selection of framed canvas artworks. I love how each breadboard has its own unique finish and patina. Chris Hansard of Level Art Services did a fantastic job with the installation for this project.

The artworks used in this project are all limited edition fine art prints that can be ordered in a variety of sizes, so let me know if you love one! All of these pieces would translate beautifully to a residential interior.

For this project, I finished the canvas pieces with a metallic rose-gold floater frame.

I stacked two small framed prints by the host stand at the entrance. This was not a big wall (18 in. wide to be exact!), but I just felt like it needed a little something. The artwork gives this space a touch of color and visual interest for guests to enjoy while waiting to be seated. I pulled the look together with matching, slightly distressed, white wood framing.
