Hi friends,

I feel like praying today and I pray in writing, I told you before it's one type of journaling that I teach.

Pray with me, will you?

Dear God,

Please intervene
Let us say the exactly right things that will move the world
Let our actions pay off in stopping the loss of more lives
Let their lives not be lost in vain
Let there be freedom
Let there be light
We are hurting because they are living in constant fear and grief that we can’t imagine,
Some of them are too hungry and thirsty to feel afraid or sad
Some of them are in so much physical pain to feel the unbearable emotional pain of losing their families
And, while some of them did not die by weapons,  they will die from lack of medical care.
Dear God, please intervene,
Move us to take actions that will stop the hemorrhage of lives and dreams,
Let them see a sliver of hope
Use our voices to amplify their truth
Use us to help them live free like you intended for humans to be

Amen

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 3 sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with:

1. 📕 One of the things we are doing in this humanity crisis is educating ourselves. My dear friend Nadia Bata recommended I read the novel Mornings In Jenin by Suzan Abulhawa to learn more about the history of Palestine 🇵🇸. I got more eager to read it when I saw this description: "A heart-wrenching, powerfully written novel that does for Palestine what The Kite Runner did for Afghanistan" because The Kite Runner is one of my favorite novels. Mornings In Jenin is now sitting in my Kindle, and I will dig in soon. It has also been translated into Arabic as عندما ينام العالم

2. 🗓️ I don't know how, but time is passing anyway, and a new month is upon us this week, one in which we wish to see what I prayed for in my above note. I am sharing my monthly downloadable gifts in the hope you will get to use them this time. Download your November Habit Tracker customized to your workweek (Your week starts on: Sunday, Monday) and a productivity-focused monthly calendar, both designed by yours truly.

3. 💭 I never had real curiosity to learn more about how dehumanization works until now, still sharing like last week from Atlas Of The Heart:

"Dehumanization has fueled innumerable acts of violence, human rights violations, war crimes, and genocides. It makes slavery, torture, and human trafficking possible. Dehumanizing others is the process by which we become accepting of violations against human nature, the human spirit, and, for many of us, violations against the central tenets of our faith.

How does this happen? Michelle Maiese explains that most of us believe that people’s basic human rights should not be violated—that crimes like murder, rape, and torture are wrong. Successful dehumanizing, however, creates moral exclusion. Groups targeted based on their identity—gender, ideology, skin color, ethnicity, religion, age—are depicted as “less than” or criminal or even evil. The targeted group eventually falls out of the scope of who is naturally protected by our moral code. This is moral exclusion, and dehumanization is at its core.”

🙏 Don’t forget that we can donate to support Palestine 🇵🇸. Jordan friends please donate to Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization.

* Note: To the best of my ability, I am trying to share content by authors who have not disappointed me, and they are hard to come by! Brene Brown has been off social media since February 2023, so she has not shared anything about this topic. Her work is important and I think we need to hear it today.

This is Sunday Spark issue #152!
