Hi {{ subscriber.firstName | default('friend in Christ') }},

I hope you are having a great week!

The leaves here are still changing--the ones that are still on the trees, that is! Our yard also has a carpet of leaves in certain areas. It is a beautiful colorful landscape.

The leaves changing and falling as a tree grows remind me of God and how He allows our life experiences to change us for the better as we grow in this life. May we always seek God first.

The quote I have to share with you is from Wednesday's Mass readings: 1 Peter: 4: 14:
“If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of God rests upon you.”

This reminds me of a saying I have heard: if you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

We are called by God to live our faith, not just pretend or talk about our faith. This can be a challenge for sure, especially with much opposition to our faith in the world. Yet, God knows this. Jesus did not deny us. He died because He loves us. He gave us the Catholic Church to bring us the Mass and the sacraments. He is with us. He will help us to live as He calls us to live.

The post this week is Good Catholic Books to Read: Reading about the Saints. We can learn so much from the saints and their lives as we work to grow in our own faith! If you are looking for some books about the saints to read, I have a list of recommendations for you.
