GENERAL NEWS

GENERAL MEETING UPDATES

OCTOBER
  • Council hosted a Careers Day for primary school aged students where students were able to attend the General Meeting of Council, and visit the administration office, terrestrial and depot. 
  • Council resolved to receive the minutes of the Aged Care Advisory Committee meeting held 21st September 2023
  • Council resolve to receive the minutes of the RADF Advisory Committee Meeting held 14th September and adopt the committees recommendation.
  • Council resolve to accept the quote provided by Gunther Resources for the Supply and Delivery of Gravel for Zone 5 Flood Damage Works to the value of $314,600.00 incl GST
  • Council received the first quarterly progress report on Council's progress toward implementing its 2023/2024 Operational Plan
NOVEMBER
  • Council resolved to continue with their process of Land Use compliance
  • Council resolved apply for an application of 50/50 funding partnership between TMR and Council to build a bus shelter and associated works in line with Council's budget
  • Council resolved to accept Preferred Supplier Registers as presented for the Wet Hire of Plant and Equipment established from the tenders received for ESC2023-003
  • Council resolved to accept the tend provided by NCH Construction for the construction of both Forsayth First Street and Einasleigh Drainage Works to the value of $430,409.50 excl GST
  • Council received the minutes of the Aged Care Advisory Committee meeting held 12th October 2023 and note the contents therein.
  • Council formally accepted the Department of Transport & Main Roads' offer of funding to develop Walking Network Plans for Mt Surprise, Einasleigh and Forsayth, and allocate its co-contribution ($90,000) during its next budget review.
  • Council received the minutes of the Biosecurity Planning Advisory Committee meeting held 1st November 2023
  • Council adopted its meeting dates for 2024 and these will be advertised through various Council channels and displayed in the main office
  • Council resolved to adopt the Amended Model Meeting Procedures and Best Practice Standing Orders

PROJECT UPDATES

150 YEAR COMMEMORATIVE PAVER PATH
Council is please to announce that the 150 year Commemorative Pavers have now been laid along the path in C.E. Green Park. We wish to thank all involved in completing this project.

HIGH STREET STAFF HOUSING
The Staff Housing project on High Street is progressing well with the concrete currently being poured for patios and carports. This project is due for completion in mid-January 2024
